We asked, you voted, and Greenfield at Greendale has been selected as the Kwik Trip and Wisconsin Dairy Game of the Week for Week 5 of the high school football season. A total of 14,312 votes were cast, as this one received 6,284 of those votes.

The Kwik Trip & Wisconsin Dairy Game of the Week allows you, the fans, to pick what you feel is the biggest high school football game in the state each week. Not only will that game get featured on WisSports.net, but our WSN staff will make it our destination that week, with updates, photos, videos, and stories from the big game.

And of course, no trip to a big game in Wisconsin would be complete without a stop or two at Kwik Trip and a chocolate milk!!

It's Gang Green in this one, as both teams are off to 2-0 records in the Woodland Conference, allowing a total of just 21 points between them. Each has won three straight since opening the year with non-conference losses, Greenfield against Columbus and Greendale against Badger.

While this is a big game in the Woodland Conference, this hasn't been much of a contest recently. In fact, 2015 is the last time Greenfield beat Greendale, and the last time before that was 2003.

"I view this game as a rivalry, however, until we get a few of these games to go our way, they own the rivalry and there is not much we can say about that," said third-year coach Mike Kubes.

Preparing for these kinds of big games is why Greenfield tested itself earlier this year.

" We purposefully scheduled Columbus Week 1, had our final contact day against Oak Creek, and played Muskego in 7-on-7 this summer in order to prepare for bigger games and higher expectations," said Kubes. "We are a very young team, having graduated 20 starters from last season, but our kids have responded and are up for the challenge of big games."

An early loss to a strong opponent also helped prepare the Greendale Panthers.

"Facing off against the defending Division 2 state champions, Badger, was no simple feat, but we played to a level where we competed physically and mentally," explained Greendale head coach Jermaine Murry. "Although, we didn't come out on top, we stayed dedicated to enhancing our skills each week."

"Our emphasis is managing the aspects within our control," Murry added. "Offensively, our aim is to establish a strong running game, minimize penalties, take what the defense gives us, and score consistently from the start."

Greenfield is ready for its chance on the big stage.

"This is my third year as the head coach at Greenfield, and I do feel we are ahead of where I wanted/should be as a program," Kubes said. "I am excited for this opportunity to show how far we have come in a short period of time, and I cannot wait until 7 pm on Friday!"
