Badger has rebounded from a tough non-conference loss to Slinger with three dominating league wins to open up Southern Lakes Conference play. Burlington has started hot, going 5-0 to begin Chad Redmer's head coaching run with the Demons. First place in the Southern Lakes is on the line in this one.
Arrowhead has taken down Mukwonago and Muskego already in the Classic Eight schedule, and this week take on unbeaten Oconomowoc, who is off to an impressive 5-0 start, but has a brutally tough three-game stretch coming up featuring Arrowhead, Mukwonago, and Muskego.
Through the early-going, these have pretty clearly been the top two teams in the Northwoods Conference. Both are undefeated overall and 3-0 in the league standings heading into this one. Coleman has outscored conference opponents 141-19, while Oconto Falls has bested league foes 145-25.
Both teams are 5-0 overall. Both are 3-0 in the Big Rivers. Both have dominated the opposition, with an average margin of victory of more than 20 points. Rice Lake's explosive option attack leads the league in scoring (40 points per game), while New Richmond's defense is the best in the conference (allowing nine points per game).
Both teams lost close games in Week 2 (De Pere against Notre Dame and West De Pere against Kaukauna) but have pretty well dominated the other four contests on their schedule so far. Both are 3-0 in the FRCC-North, along with Bay Port. West De Pere has won the last two matchups in this crosstown rivalry.
