The New Richmond Tigers have been selected as the Week 6 WSN Football Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team scored an impressive win over top-ranked Rice Lake to take over the top spot in the Big Rivers. The Tigers were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 6. A total of 4,844 votes were cast, as New Richmond's 1,554 votes edged D.C. Everest's 1,093 votes.

New Richmond scored a huge 23-22 win over defending Division 3 state champion and previous D2 top-ranked squad Rice Lake on Friday night to take control of the Big Rivers Conference race. The Tigers rolled up 376 yards of offense in the game, limiting Rice Lake's rushing attack ot just 140 yards on 38 carries, well below their season average. Joe Hoeppner ran for 133 yards and two touchdowns for the Tigers and head coach Reggie Larson, who also got a big receiving game from Aiden Eckert, while Nick Stellrecht was very efficient throwing the football.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 7 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
