Logan Derke of Belleville has been selected as the Level 1 Jolly Good Football Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. His big day helped the Wildcats score a big win over a top seed. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Level 1. A total of 6,245 votes were cast, as Derke's 2,117 were enough to edge out second place Patrick Greisen of West De Pere, who tallied 1,950 votes.

Cambridge was a perfect 9-0 during the regular season, winning the Eastern Suburban Conference title. The Blue Jays got matched up with eighth-seeded Belleville, who played a challenging schedule against a number of larger teams, including seven regular season contests against teams that would qualify for the playoffs. It proved not to be much of a contest, with Belleville dominating to a 27-0 victory, as Logan Derke was a workhorse for the Wildcats, carrying it 37 times for 209 yards and three touchdowns.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named Jolly Good Football Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Level 2 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
