The Delavan-Darien Comets have been selected as the Level 1 WSN Football Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team went on the road and rallied for its first playoff win in eight years. The Comets were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Level 1. A total of 5,210 votes were cast, as Delavan-Darien's 2,216 votes edged Waterford's 864 votes.

Delavan-Darien rallied from a 12-point fourth quarter deficit to storm back and defeat fourth-seeded Kettle Moraine Lutheran 28-25 on the road Friday night. The Comets win a playoff game in their first appearance since 2016. Quintin Arizola threw for 237 yards and two touchdowns, adding 53 yards on the ground.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Level 2 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
