D.C. Everest is in to Level 3 of the playoffs for the first time since 2011, handling Madison Memorial to the tune of 45-24 on Friday night. Running back Blake Bangston had a huge game for the Evergreens, rushing 40 times for 303 yards and four touchdowns, adding two catches for 21 yards and a score.
Milwaukee Academy of Science and Darlington played an incredible high school football game on Friday, and it wasn't decided until the final moments, with Darlington failing on a potential go-ahead two-point conversion with just over a minute remaining. Academy of Science would hold on for a 36-35 win, as Josiah Johnson continued his incredible season with 25 carries for 257 yards and three touchdowns. He'd add two catches for 38 yards as well.
Mukwonago went up 21-0 early and held on for a 21-14 win over Racine Case on Friday night. Senior running back Mason Radobicky accounted for two of the scores, a 26-yard run to open the scoring in the first quarter and a one-yard plunge in the second. He finished with 32 carries for 191 yards and those two touchdown runs.
Neenah pulled off the rare feat of defeating Kimberly twice in one season, as the Rockets went on the road and downed the Papermakers 34-14 on Friday night. Evan Vanevenhoven hit on several big plays in the passing game, completing seven-of-13 passes for 218 yards and two touchdowns. That included a 91-yard strike to Grant Dean in the third quarter to put Neenah up two scores plus a 31-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. Vanevenhoven also ran for two short touchdowns in the second quarter.
Lancaster fell to Cuba City during the regular season, but the Flying Arrows got their revenge in the playoffs, defeating the Cubans 20-7 on Friday night in a Division 5 contest. it was a slugfest throughout, with neither team getting the ground game going consistently. Nolan Wolf was a difference-maker at quarterback, however, completing nine-of-12 passes for 108 yards and a touchdown. He'd add 63 hard-fought rushing yards on 19 carries, including a game-sealing touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
