Bonduel is into the state semi-finals for just the second time in school history, as the Bears took down previously unbeaten Coleman 15-13 on Friday. It was a defensive slugfest, as the Bears averaged just three yards per attempt but hit on enough plays in the passing game to get the job done, while the defense had some key stops throughout.
Boyceville is into the state semi-finals for the first time in school history, knocking off Spring Valley 21-6 after falling to the Cardinals earlier in the year. The Bulldogs' defense limited Spring Valley to just 141 yards of offense. The team's offense was efficient, with Zach Hellendrung rushing for a time-high 95 yards and two touchdowns while Carson Roemhild had 155 yards of total offense.
Kenosha St. Joseph continued its dominating postseason run with a third consecutive running clock shutout, this time a 42-0 decision over Johnson Creek. Not only did the defense pitch a shutout, but the unit scored twice, one a short interception return score by Chris Kenesie and the other a 39-yard fumble return touchdown from Berkley Kuiper. Johnson Creek had just 62 yards of offense in the game.
Potosi/Cassville defeated River Ridge earlier this year, but winning a second time in the same year is a challenge. The co-op program was up for it, rallying late to score a 21-14 victory. Dawson Weber went in for what proved to be the game-winner from six yards out with 3:13 remaining. Joe Haas ran for 86 yards while Isaiah Groom contributed 72 rushing yards and two scores along with 18 tackles on defense.
After eight trips to the state semi-finals, including four championships, from 2002 to 2014, Wisconsin Lutheran is back for the first time in a decade after defeating New Berlin West 23-14 on Friday night. The team's veer offense put up 238 rushing yards while Cooper Sievert also hit on a touchdown pass to Henry Szymanski. Nico Holtzman tacked on a 27-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to help put things away.
