Barron sophomore Alexis Halverson has been selected as the Box Out Sports Athlete of the Week for the week of November 4-10 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net. 

There were 6,577 total votes this week. Halverson topped all vote getters with 2,661 votes. Sussex Hamilton's Ben Bayer finished in second with 1,556 votes.

Halverson had a great state tournament as she and the Barron girls volleyball team won a gold ball for the second time in program history. The sophomore outside hitter had 21 kills, 12 digs, 4 blocks, 4 assists, and 3 aces in a five-set win over Lake Country Lutheran in the state semifinals. Halverson then tallied 24 kills, 13 digs, 3 aces, 3 blocks, and 2 assists in the 3-1 victory over Aquinas. The Golden Bears won the WIAA Division 3 State Championship, the second in program history.
