Brady Moon of Bay Port has been selected as the Sectional Finals Jolly Good Football Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. His big day helped the Pirates advance to the state semi-finals in Division 1, knocking off the defending champions. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in the Sectional Finals. A total of 9516 votes were cast, as Moon's 4,000 were enough to edge out second place Bradley Check of La Crosse Logan, who tallied 3,839 votes.

Bay Port led at the half and pulled away for a 35-21 win over defending Division 1 state champion Marquette on Friday night. Junior running back Brady Moon had a career day, carrying the ball 32 times for 206 yards and three touchdowns. Two of those scores came in the third quarter, as the Pirates were able to push their advantage. Moon also led the Pirates with five receptions for 76 yards.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named Jolly Good Football Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the State Semi-Finals nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
