Sheboygan Lutheran dropped to Division 5 this season and was placed in Sectional 4 in the same half-sectional as Lourdes Academy while defending Division 5 state champion Albany/Monticello is on the side of the sectional. The Crusaders’ schedule is highlighted by their conference games against Oostburg, which will enter the year as one of the top teams in D3. Joining Shaw as top returnees are Jordyn Jaglinski, a D-II Augustana recruit who was fifth in the state in 3-pointers made last season, and Anna Schooley, the team’s leader in rebounds and blocks. Assumption will be competing in Sectional 2 this season and are in the same half-sectional as Pacelli while the other side’s top team is Lena, the D5 state runner-up last season. The Royals have notable non-league contests versus Pacelli (Jan. 3), Neillsville (Feb. 3), and Aquinas (Feb. 18).

The Cardinals also have notable non-league contests versus Assumption (away, Jan. 3). Wittenberg-Birnamwood (away, Feb. 3), and St. Mary Catholic (home, Feb. 18). Pacelli, looking for its first WIAA state tournament appearance in program history, is in the same half-sectional as Pittsville and Assumption (finalist in Sectional 4 last season). Another top returnee for the Knights is Delaney Ruedinger, who was second in most statistical categories. Lourdes Academy is looking for its second WIAA State Tournament appearance in program history. The Knights’ first trip was in 2012 with current head coach Ali Starr coaching the team to a Division 4 state runner-up finish in her first coaching stint at Lourdes Academy. The Knights’ sectional, Sectional 4 in Division 5, is strong again this year despite Assumption, a sectional finalist last season, moving to Sectional 2. Sheboygan Lutheran joins their half-sectional after competing in Division 4, reaching a sectional final before falling to Laconia (winners of the last two D4 state titles). The other half-sectional has defending D5 state champion Albany/Monticello. Lourdes Academy has an early season test against St. Mary Catholic, a Division 4 sectional qualifier, on December 2.
