Neillsville at Alma Center Lincoln
Neillsville pushed Stratford in its opening game, eventually falling 64-52 to the seventh-ranked team in WisSports.net Division 4 Coaches Poll. Alma Center Lincoln has started off 2-0 and is the favorite in the Dairyland-Small conference. Andrew Hoeser is a force on the interior for Neillsville while Jace Paul is one of the better combo guards on the west side of the state.
Saint Thomas More at Carmen Northwest
Two skilled teams face off in this one as Saint Thomas More is 2-0 with both Omar Fofana and Kenari Parr averaging over 20 points per game. Carmen Northwest is 1-1 with their loss coming in a high-scoring affair with Menomonee Falls. Javante Edwards scored 54 points in his last appearance on the court for Northwest.
McDonell Central at Columbus Catholic (D5, #4)
Two small-school parochial teams square off in this one and are two of the better small school programs in the state. McDonell is 1-1 with a close loss to Amery the lone blemish. Columbus Catholic has had to replace all five starters from last year's state championship team but has started the year off 3-0 and is ranked fourth in the first WisSports.net Division 5 Boys Coaches poll.
Xavier at Kettle Moraine Lutheran
Kettle Moraine Lutheran continues its difficult start to the season by welcoming in Xavier for this non-con matchup. Coach Lindner's squad has lost to Lomira and Lake Country Lutheran but has a quality win over Milwaukee Lutheran. Xavier comes in 1-1 with the only loss coming in a two point loss to Fox Valley Lutheran on Tuesday.
Marshfield (D1, #3) at La Crosse Central
Marshfield was ranked third in the opening WisSports.net Division 1 Coaches Poll but were on the wrong end of the biggest surprise loss of the early season, falling to Appleton East on Tuesday. The Tigers were without junior forward Chris Pohl but are looking for a bounce back. Central started the year off with a win over Eau Claire North as senior guard Derrick Pangier led the Riverhawks with 22 points.
Verona at Madison West
This game will have plenty of talent on the court at once between these two Big Eight squads. Verona suffered an opening loss to juggernaut Milwaukee Academy of Science, but got 29 points from Drew Murphy in the process. West fell in a close one to Sussex Hamilton to start the year as junior guard Michael Wilson had a team high 27 points.
Madison Memorial (D1, #10) at Middleton
Another good Big Eight conference matchup is on the slate for Thursday as Madison Memorial travels to Middleton. Memorial is off to a 2-0 start including an impressive win over Milwaukee Juneau. It will be Middleton's first game of the year as the Cardinals are led by 7-0 Wisconsin commit Will Garlock.
West De Pere (D2, #8) at Notre Dame
A solid Bay vs FRCC conference battle is the story here. West De Pere is a favorite in Division 2 despite an opening season loss to Lake Mills (ranked third in D3). Bryce Borowicz, Tref Rademaker, and Carson Samson all scored in double-digits in the opening game loss. For Notre Dame, this will be the first game for a team led by seniors Adam Guyette and Andrew Rader.
Sheboygan North at Plymouth
Sheboygan North is 1-0 after a 3-point opening season win over a very good Kohler team (ranked fourth in Division 4). Plymouth is coming off a win over Menasha and relies heavily on junior combo guard Kayden Schultz who is averaged nearly 30 points per game through two games.
Waterford at Racine Park
Two very good D2 teams square off in this one as Waterford is coming off a close loss to the top team in Division 2, Wauwatosa West. Park took Racine St. Cats, the second ranked team in D3, to overtime in game one of its season. Both teams exude strong guard play in its starting rotations.
Aquinas (D4, #2) at Regis (D4, #9)
The top matchup of small schools in the state on Thursday, this one will see two top-ten teams in Division 4 square off in an early season non-con tilt. Aquinas is coming off a state tournament appearance and has yet to play a game while Regis is 2-0 with wins over Barron and Marathon.
Brillion at Roncalli
Two very good Eastern Wisconsin conference teams match up in this one as Roncalli opens the year with a home conference game. Brillion is 1-0 with as Owen Krepline and Connor Holly both poured in 20-plus points against Shiocton.
Peshtigo at Southern Door (D4, #10)
Peshtigo is 3-0 coming into this matchup, the first game for Southern Door. The story surrounding this one is the first game of the season for senior Drew Daoust and his ascension on the all-time leading scoring list in the state.
Mineral Point (D4, #1) at Southwestern (D5, #5)
A clash between two of the favorites in the SWAL conference this early on the season? Sign me up. Mineral Point is coming off a state championship and has yet to get its toes wet this season. Southwestern has a full team back from last year, is hungry, and already is 2-0.
Platteville (D3, #8) at Wisconsin Dells (D3, #10)
Two top ten teams in Division 3 are set to square off in this early season non-con matchup. Platteville ended the Dells season a year ago in the sectional semifinals before falling one game short of a state tournament berth. The Hillmen have yet to take the court this season while the Dells tallied a 22-point win over Portage on opening night.
Deerfield at Abundant Life (D5, #8)
The top two teams in the Trailways South square off in an early season conference tilt. Deerfield is 1-0 with a 27-point win over Johnson Creek while Abundant Life has the same record and almost same point differential.
Hortonville at Appleton North (D1, #8)
A tough FVA Conference matchup awaits with this one. Hortonville is 2-0 with win over Lourdes and Fort Atkinson as both Riley Mueller and Ethan Joling are averaging around 20 points per game. For North, they outlasted a very good Bay Port team on Tuesday and have one of the more balanced teams in the state.
Cochrane-Fountain City at Blair-Taylor
CFC and Blair-Taylor are set to clash in this Dairyland-Small matchup with both teams coming in unscathed so far. Cameron Lipinski and Porter Ehrat are both averaging 20-plus points per game for CFC while Ethan Knisely had 29 in game one for Blair-Taylor.
Iola-Scandinavia at Bonduel (D4, #5)
Iola-Scandinavia took down D5, number 8 Almond-Bancroft this week and will look to get another win over a ranked opponent in Bonduel on Friday. Size is in abundance in this with with Alex Robbins and Korz Loken on the Iola side and Ryan Westrich in the middle for Bonduel.
Wisconsin Lutheran at Greendale
Wisco won it's opening game over Brookfield Central to extend its program win streak to 31 games. Sophomore Kager Knueppel and junior Zavier Zens look to be problems on the wings for the Vikings. Greendale is 1-0 with a win over Waukesha North and rely heavily on senior wing Devin Isaj, one of the better senior guards in the state.
Lakeside Lutheran (D3, #7) at Marshall (D4, #3)
Two top ten teams square off in this one from opposite sides of the Capitol conference. Lakeside is 1-0 with a win over Luther Prep on Tuesday, while Marshall is 1-1 after suffering a loss to Lodi on Tuesday.
Germantown (D1, #9) at Menomonee Falls
Both of these teams have put up gaudy numbers offensively through two games. Germantown is averaging just over 89 points per game while Falls has averaged 95. It would feel like whichever team can get the most stops will take this one home.
Kimberly at Neenah
There's no easy game night in the FVA conference as these two teams square off both sitting at 0-1 with tough non-con losses. Long-time coach Lee Rabas leads Neenah while first-year coach Freddie Owens is looking for his first win with Kimberly.
Milwaukee Academy of Science (D3, #1) at Nicolet (D2, #2)
This one takes the cake for the game of the week as two teams ranked in the top two of their respective divisions square off. Science is 2-0 and has steam rolled two very good Division 1 teams in West Allis Central and Verona. Nicolet has a 21-point win over West Bend West. Talent is in abundance in this one.
Kaukauna (D1, #4) at Oshkosh North (D1, #2)
This may be 1B to the game listed above as game of the weeks in the state. A FVA matchup with two top-four teams in Division 1 and three bonafide Division 1 athletes makes this game a can't miss. Iowa State commit Zay Mitchell had 45 points North's season opening win, while UW-Green Bay commit Keegan Van Kauwenberg and D1 college prospect Andrew Jensen have to be itching to play an opponent already.
Stratford (D4, #7) at Prentice
The favorite in the Marawood South and North conferences square off in this one as both are undefeated early on and have something to prove in this one.
Brookfield East at Wauwatosa West (D2, #1)
Wauwatosa West has been impressive early on this season going 3-0. Brookfield East is 2-0 with a good win over a pair of FVA opponents. This matchup could set the tone for either team going forward in the Greater Metro.
Spring Valley at Altoona
Spring Valley got an opening win over Pepin/Alma but that will be the only game played between these two coming into the matchup at the UW-Stout Tournament. Altoona will be a contender in the Middle Border conference behind senior Myles Sinette and sensational sophomores Owen Gunderson and Graysen Becker.
West De Pere (D2, #8) at De Pere (D1, #1)
West De Pere continues its challenging week after a matchup with Notre Dame on Thursday by heading crosstown to take on the top ranked team in Division 1. An old rivalry rears its head in a matchup of two top-ten teams in the state.
Alma Center Lincoln at Ladysmith
The preseason favorite in the Dairyland-Small will take on a Ladysmith team that will compete for a title in the Heart O'North. Both of these squads are senior driven and have a scoring punch at the guard positions.
Middleton at Madison La Follette
Both of these teams will be tested with a Big 8 matchup earlier in the week, but this one is worth a tune in. There is plenty of next level talent that will be on display from either team in this one.
Oostburg at Martin Luther
Oostburg is coming off a big win over Howards Grove in which Cade Dirkse filled the stat sheet up with 40 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists. Martin Luther is 2-0 and has a balanced offensive attack with plenty of scoring punch.
Columbus at Platteville (D3, #8)

Carmen Northwest at Racine St. Catherine's (D3, #2)
These two Division 3 contestants will face off at the Waterford Tournament after mixed results. Carmen Northwest knocked off Golda Meir on Wednesday, squares off with Saint Thomas More on Thursday, and now gets St. Cats on Saturday. For the Angels, they're coming off a narrow loss to Division 1 Whitnall on Wednesday.
Waunakee at Stevens Point
Both of these squads have done a good job of scheduling tough non-con games to start the season and this is no different. Waunakee enters 2-0 while Stevens Point is 1-1 before its matchup with Chippewa Falls on Thursday.
Whitnall (D1, #5) at Waterford
These two teams have done nothing but play head bangers to start the 2024-25 season. For Waterford, they will have had games against New Berlin Eisenhower, Kenosha St. Joes, Wauwatosa West, and Racine Park before this one.
