Platteville (17-9 overall) and Prairie du Chien (19-6) were co-champions of the SWC, splitting their meetings. Dodgeville (17-9) took third, going 6-4, followed by Lancaster (10-15, 4-6) while River Valley (3-22, 2-8) and Richland Center (0-24, 0-10) closed out the conference standings.

Jaxcyn Berntgen, sr., Platteville – Berntgen, a 5-10 forward, was voted first-team all-SWC last season, averaging 11 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per contest for the Hillmen.
Tessa Czajkowski Higgins, sr., Prairie du Chien – Czajkowski Higgins, a 5-10 guard, received second-team all-SWC last season, averaging 11.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 3.1 steals per contest for the Blackhawks.
Rianna Dye, soph., Platteville – Dye, a 6-2 forward, averaged 10.2 points and 7.9 rebounds in her debut season, receiving second-team all-league for the Hillmen.
Annie Martin, sr., Lancaster – Martin, a 5-7 guard, contributed 6.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.8 steals per game last season for the Flying Arrows.
Greenlee Krahn, sr., Prairie du Chien – Krahn, a 5-4 guard, tallied 13.4 points, 2.7 assists, and 2.8 steals per contest as a junior, earning second-team all-league. Greenlee also connected on 57 triples for the Blackhawks.
Jessica Morgan, sr., Lancaster – Morgan, a 6-0 guard, was named first-team all-SWC and honorable mention WBCA all-state last season. The NCAA Division III UW-Eau Claire recruit averaged 15.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game for the Flying Arrows. Morgan also made 61 three-pointers.
Tannah Radloff, sr., Prairie du Chien – Radloff, a 5-10 guard, was named SWC Player of the Year and honorable mention WBCA all-state last season. She averaged 13.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 2.9 steals per game for the Blackhawks. Radloff also shot 39-for-87 from behind the arc.
Avery Richard, soph., Platteville – Richard, a 5-10 point guard, averaged 13.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 3.5 steals per game as a freshman, earning second-team all-SWC.
2024-25 Team Previews
1) Prairie du Chien has claimed at least a share of the last four SWC titles. The Blackhawks return their entire roster which finished the year with a 19-6 record, falling to eventual D3 state champion Edgewood in a regional final. Tannah Radloff, the league’s reigning player of the year, headlines the roster for the Blackhawks. Other top returnees include Greenlee Krahn, Tessa Czajkowski Higgins, Karly Kramer, and Rita Achenbach. Prairie du Chien is ranked No. 9 in the first WSN Coaches Poll of the season and has notable non-league wins against New Berlin Eisenhower and Holmen. The Blackhawks, which are in the same half-sectional as Edgerton, won’t have to deal with Edgewood in the postseason but now have Laconia in Sectional 3, winners of the last two D4 state championships, elevated to Division 3 this season in the first year of the Competitive Balance Plan.

2) Platteville brings back its top five scorers from last year’s team which claimed a share of the SWC title and ended the year with a 17-9 record. Brandon Temperly has a 169-123 record in 12 years as a head coach and is 122-51 in seven years at Platteville. Coach Temperly told WisSports.net that they have experience, good leadership, and chemistry, and are a hard-working group of girls. “This team had a good summer of improvement and has the potential to improve rapidly over the season.” Avery Richard and Jaxcyn Berntgen lead the way for the Hillmen. Richard led the team in points, assists, and steals last season while Berntgen was second in points and rebounds. Macie Noble and Claire Huser also return as starters and top reserve Rianna Dye, the team’s leading rebounder is another top returnee. In the early season, Platteville has notable non-league wins over Mineral Point and Aquinas. The Hillmen’s first meeting against Prairie du Chien isn’t until January 17. Platteville is in the same half-sectional as Prairie du Chien and Edgerton, while Laconia, winners of the two D4 state titles, is in the other half of the sectional.

3) Lancaster returns three starters from its 2023-24 team which finished 4-6 in the SWC and 10-15 overall. Third-year head coach Courtney Feller (23-28 record) told WSN they have experience with seven seniors on the roster. “They play well together and make each other better.” Headlining the lineup for the Flying Arrows is Jessica Morgan, a UW-Eau Claire recruit, who led the SWC in scoring last season. Other notable returnees include Annie Martin and Nicole Kelley. Lancaster opens SWC play at Platteville on December 6.

4) Dodgeville will be in a transition year after going 6-4 in the league and 17-9 overall in 2023-24. Second-year head coach Hayden Hardyman told WSN that this year’s team demonstrates great strength in their youth and work ethic, as they will look to compete each night. Coach Hardyman went on to say that having a young roster allows the players to get three to four years on varsity, but they know there will be learning curves. Marlie McGraw is the top holdover from last year’s squad.
