Monday, December 9

Auburndale at Columbus Catholic (D5, #4)
Auburndale comes into this one 2-0 while Columbus Catholic suffered its first loss of the season in its most recent matchup with McDonell Central. Blake Raab and Thomas Aue have started off well for Auburndale averaging 24 and 16 points respectively. For Columbus Catholic, the reset from last year's team has been just that, not a rebuild. Ben Weiland, Carter Sommer, and Mac Konieczny are all averaging double-digits for the Dons.

Abundant Life Christian (D5, #8) at Fall River
A matchup of cross-Trailways teams pairs different styles as Abundant Life Christian relies on its guard play while Fall River has size that could poses the Challengers problems. Abundant Life Christian has beat Deerfield and will have a tough matchup Friday with Marshall. Fall River fell to that Marshall team though it was a close one.

East Troy at Jefferson
This will be the first conference matchup for either of these Rock Valley-Valley teams. East Troy is 2-1 with it's lone loss coming to a talented Martin Luther team. Jefferson is 3-0 and coming off two straight four point victories.

Oakfield at Lomira
The preseason Trailways-East favorite travels to the preseason Flyway favorite in this one. Oakfield has just one loss to Cambridge in its opener, while Lomira is 3-0 under new head coach Dan Domask and junior big man Jake Broeske.

Elk Mound at Prescott (D3, #9)
Elk Mound is 2-0 coming into this one with two close wins over Arcadia and Stanley-Boyd. The Mounders will have their biggest challenge with this Prescott team however. Prescott had four games in six days last week and went 3-1 with the lone loss to Division 1 Holmen.

Appleton East at Pulaski
East is a surprise team at 2-0 this season as they surprised Marshfield in both team's opening game. Pulaski has two blowout wins over Bay Conference teams Shawano and Menasha and welcome in the Patriots who are searching for another prove-it moment.

Tuesday, December 10

Nekoosa at Amherst
Nekoosa is coming off two impressive wins, a win over Assumption and a blowout win over Necedah. Amherst is 3-0 with as they knocked off Port Edwards, the lone team to defeat Nekoosa.

Wisconsin Lutheran at Arrowhead
Two state tournament teams from a season ago square off in this one, though they come in riding different streaks. Wisco is 2-0 with wins over Brookfield Central and Greendale and reloaded with talent. Arrowhead however is 0-2 with conference losses to Kettle Moraine and Muskego.

Marquette University at Brookfield Central
While this is a great matchup of Greater Metro teams, the story behind this one is the fact it's the first game for the defending Division 1 state champions from Marquette.

Bloomer at Cadott
An early claim to the top of the Cloverbelt-West standings is at stake in this one as both teams enter undefeated in a deep conference.

Spooner at Cumberland
Spooner comes off a buzzer-beating game-winner over Hayward in its first game of the season last Thursday, while Cumberland is 3-0 and clicking behind the play of senior big man Gavin Gores.

Altoona at Durand-Arkansaw
Two good teams on the western side of the state square off here as Altoona knocked off a very good Spring Valley squad over the weekend while Durand-Arkansaw had a nail biter of a win over Fall Creek on Monday.

Reedsville at Elkhart-Lake Glenbeulah
Two undefeated teams in the Big East-North conference will play their first conference game in this one. Brody Feldman is averaging 21 points to lead ELG while Reedsville's Ben Prochnow has been the catalyst for the offense averaging 23 points and 9.7 assists per game.

Beaver Dam (D2, #6) at Fort Atkinson (D2, #10)
A great early season Badger-Large matchup here between two top-ten teams in Division 2. Beaver Dam has been impressive behind a balanced scoring attack that is averaging 92.5 points per game. Fort will likely drop out of the standings this week after losses to Hortonville and Stoughton. However, those losses were by three and two points to two very good squads.

Wauwatosa West (D2, #1) at Germantown (D2, #9)
Two top ten teams out of the Greater Metro conference will take the court here with talent in abundance for each squad. Tosa West is 4-0 and has looked like one of the best teams in the entire state early on. Germantown is 2-1 with its lone blemish coming against Menomonee Falls.

Xavier at Green Bay West
Green Bay West is 2-0 but its the double-digit wins that is most impressive for the Wildcats. Xavier is 2-1 with its lone loss, a two-point defeat to Fox Valley Lutheran.

Potosi (D5, #3) at Highland
Potosi has won its lone matchup of the year, a 68-41 victory over Belmont, and are the favorite in the Six Rivers-West conference. Highland however is no pushover. The Cardinals are 3-0, have great size, and will have an opportunity to supplant itself as a contender not just in the Six Rivers, but in all of Division 5 with a win in this one.

Verona at Middleton
This game isn't quite the matchup it would have been a few weeks ago with Middleton's Will Garlock sidelined with an ankle injury. However, head coach Kevin Bavery and the Cardinals are looking to bounce back from an 0-2 start. Verona is 2-1 and playing better after an opening loss to Milwaukee Academy of Science.

Milwaukee Juneau (D4, #4) at Milwaukee Hamilton
Two very good Milwaukee City schools square off in this one. Juneau lost three games out of state playing in the Kevin Brown Memorial Tournament but have won back to back games against Milwaukee North and King. Hamilton is 3-0 and has scored plenty over its first three games.

Stoughton at Mount Horeb (D2, #4)
1-1 Stoughton heads to 3-0 Mount Horeb in a Badger-Small contest. Stoughton is coming off a thrilling win over Fort Atkinson while Mount Horeb junior Josh Manchester became the school's all-time leading scorer in its latest game and has been nearly unstoppable scoring the ball.

Ithaca at North Crawford (D5, #6)
Two teams that shared the Ridge & Valley conference title last season are looking to gain a leg up in the standings early on. Ithaca will play this season without its leading scorer from last year Channing Brown who has chosen to not participate. That's a big blow for the Bulldogs though they look to rally around first-year head coach Aaron Huebsch. Chris Wettstein's North Crawford team is fundamental, skilled, and hard working, and one of the best teams in Division 5 in the state.

Alma Center Lincoln at Osseo-Fairchild
Two 4-0 teams on the opposite sides of the Dairyland conference make this game a fun one on Tuesday. Jace Paul and Ben Ross lead a guard-oriented Lincoln squad while Osseo has a balanced attack.

Wisconsin Dells (D3, #10) at Pardeeville
The Dells is coming off a tough loss to a very good Wisconsin Dells team while Pardeeville is 2-0 but will have its toughest competition in the visiting Chiefs.

Milwaukee Academy of Science (D3, #1) at Pewaukee
No team has a better slate of wins in the state than Science as they've knocked off West Allis Central, Verona, Nicolet, and Fond du Lac. Another test is in store for the Novas as they travel to Pewaukee to take on the D2 state runner-ups in their second game of the season.

Racine St. Catherine's (D3, #2) at Racine Lutheran
Two of the better teams in Division 3 will square off in this Metro Classic conference clash. St. Cats is coming off back-to-back losses to Whitnall and Carmen Northwest. Lutheran has had three blowout victories and will have its biggest test in this one.

McDonell Central at Regis (D4, #9)
Two Cloverbelt-West squads that are very familiar with each other will tip off here as both private schools are coming off of losses and looking to get back in the win column.

Southern Door (D4, #10) at Sevastopol
Two undefeated Packerland teams will do battle as Southern Door is led by one of the best scorers in state history in Drew Daoust. Lucas Delsart, Logan Schuh, and Paul Gnabasik are all averaging double digit point totals for Sevastopol.

Carmen Northwest at Sheboygan North
Carmen Northwest has put up points in bunches led by Javante Edwards. They'll travel to a Sheboygan North team that has two impressive wins over Kohler and Plymouth and have a balanced team that can score in a handful of different ways.

Martin Luther at The Prairie School
These two schools have just one loss between them, a Prairie School defeat at the hands of Heritage Christian on opening night. Martin Luther is a team dominated by upperclassmen while The Prairie School has a youth movement that is growing up game to game.

Holmen at West Salem
Two undefeated teams from the La Crosse area make this one of the better matchups on the western part of the state this week. Holmen has won it's past two games by 35 and 23 points and its offense is humming behind it's three point barrage. West Salem is a program with a winning culture and one that is experienced and can score the ball at a high rate.

Wednesday, December 11

Kettle Moraine (D1, #5) at Westosha Central
Two weeks into the season and Kettle Moraine has been one of the most impressive teams in the state. The Lasers are 4-0 with convincing wins over Whitnall and Arrowhead already. For Westosha, the results have been mixed for a team with two very talented players in Elijah Griffin and Liam Lubkeman. The Falcons are 1-1 but do play Union Grove on Tuesday before this matchup.
