Christian joins 2,000-Point Club; Terrian and Nordin set scoring records; Other notable performances from Dec. 2-7

Christian Eclipses 2,000 career points

Hartford senior Makena Christian scored her 2,000th career point in Thursday's 73-26 win over Nicolet. The 6-0 guard finished the game with 26 points, nine rebounds, a steal, and a block. 

Makena is the 40th girl in state history to reach the milestone and the first from the class of 2025. In other games last week, she netted 34 points in a 74-55 win over D2 No. 4 Whitefish Bay and 23 in a 71-57 victory over Wisconsin Lutheran on Saturday. 

Christian averages 26.2 points, 10 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.2 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game for the Orioles, 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the North Shore. Hartford is ranked No. 6 in the Division 1 WisSports.net Coaches Poll. 

The NCAA Division I Minnesota recruit enters the week with 2,027 career points.

Terrian becomes Pewaukee's all-time leading scorer

Pewaukee senior Amy Terrian became the program's all-time leading scorer in Friday's win over Brown Deer (101-43). 

The NCAA Division I Michigan State recruit netted a team-high 19 points, shooting 7-for-10 from the floor, 1-for-1 from the free throw line, and 4-for-6 from behind the arc. Amy added five assists, two rebounds, and a steal. 

Terrian surpassed the previous mark of 1,496 points set by current assistant coach Abby Gerrits, who played collegiately at Northern Iowa. 

Amy is averaging 18.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 2.8 steals per game for the Pirates, 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the Woodland West. 

Pewaukee, last year's Division 2 state champion, is ranked No. 1 in the Division 1 WSN Coaches Poll. The Pirates are riding a 19-game winning streak, the longest active streak in the state. 

Nordin breaks Shawano's all-time scoring record

Shawano junior Leah Nordin became the program’s all-time leading scorer in Tuesday’s loss to D3 No. 2 Oostburg (70-49). 

The NCAA Division I prospect finished the game with 25 points on 11 of 19 shooting and added eight rebounds and an assist. Nordin passed the previous mark of 1,168 held by Christi Burden since 1989. Leah netted 29 points in a loss to D2 No. 3 West De Pere on Friday to push her total to 1,201 career points entering the week. 

Leah averages 28.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 4.8 steals per game for the Hawks, 3-3 overall and 0-1 in the Bay. 

Nordin, who received over 20 NCAA Division I offers, recently announced her final five: Belmont, Butler, Illinois State, Marquette, and Wisconsin. She will be making her college decision on Friday.

Ouimette and Clark set school records

Lakeland senior Kristina Ouimette dropped a school-record 45 points in the Thunderbirds’ 74-45 win over Medford on Friday.

The 6-1 wing/forward shot 18-for-33 from the floor, made four of four from the free throw line, and shot 5-for-11 from behind the arc. Ouimette also tallied five rebounds, six assists, four steals, and a block. She was tied for the previous record of 43 points, notching that total on opening night this season. In a 45-42 win over Mosinee on Tuesday, Kristina finished with 27 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

She is second in the state in scoring with 35 points per game. Kristina also averages 6.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 3.0 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game. The NCAA Division I Green Bay recruit enters the week with 1,900 career points. Lakeland, 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the Great Northern, is ranked No. 6 in the Division 2 WSN Coaches Poll. 

Rhinelander sophomore Aubryn Clark scored a school-record 43 points in the Hodags’ 63-58 overtime win against Medford on Tuesday.

The 5-8 point guard shot 12-for-37 from the floor, 14-for-16 from the free throw line, and 5-for-15 from 3-point land. Clark also contributed six rebounds, two assists, five steals, and a block.

Aubryn averages 24.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 3.8 steals per game this season. She broke the previous high of 42 set by Ava Lamers in 2022. Rhinelander is 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the Great Northern. 

Other Notable Performances

Valerie Richardson, sr., Madison East – Richardson, a 5-6 guard, netted a game-best 40 points in an 86-24 win over Madison West on Tuesday. She shot 13-for-19 from the floor, 8-for-11 from the free throw line, and 6-for-12 from 3-point land. On Friday, Valerie scored 22 points in a 66-49 victory over Sun Prairie East. Richardson averages 28.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 4.3 steals per game for the Purgolders, 3-3 overall and 2-3 in the Big Eight. 

Kylie Butler, jr., Argyle/Pecatonica – Butler, a 5-7 point guard, tallied a game-high 36 points in a 71-54 win over East Dubuque, IA on Tuesday. She shot 15-for-24 from the floor and went 6-for-6 from the charity stripe while adding four rebounds, four assists, and five steals. On Friday, Kylie scored 18 points in a 75-47 victory against Potosi/Cassville. The NCAA Division I Milwaukee recruit averages 32.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 3.0 steals per contest for Argyle/Pec, 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the Six Rivers East. Argyle/Pecatonica is ranked No. 10 in the Division 4 WSN Coaches Poll. 

Rainey Welson, sr., Hortonville – Welson, a 5-10 guard, netted a game-high 36 points in a 79-58 victory against Appleton North on Friday. The NCAA Division I Maryland recruit shot 14-for-18 from the floor, 3-for-5 from the foul line, and 5-for-8 from behind the arc while adding three rebounding, four assists, four steals, and a block. Rainey tallied 24 points in a win over Oshkosh West on Tuesday. She averages 26.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 4.3 steals per game for the Polar Bears, 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the FVA. Welson enters the week with 1,704 career points. Hortonville is ranked No. 7 in the Division 1 WSN Coaches Poll. 

Destiny Weaver, soph., Messmer – Weaver, a 5-7 guard, finished with a game-best 36 points in a 67-48 victory against Catholic Central on Monday. She added 18 rebounds, six assists, and eight steals. Weaver is averaging 30 points (6th in state), 14.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 7.5 steals per game for the Bishops, 3-1 overall and 3-0 in the Midwest Classic.  

Serenity Metcalfe, sr., Shorewood – Metcalfe, a 5-7 guard, scored a game-high 36 points in a 72-49 loss to Greenfield on Tuesday. She averages 34.8 points per game, the third-most in the state, to go along with 11.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 6.8 steals per contest for the Greyhounds, 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the Woodland East.  

Maddie Becker, jr., South Milwaukee – Becker, a 5-10 guard, netted a career-high 36 points in a 42-29 win over Cudahy on Tuesday. She added 13 rebounds, four steals, and two blocks in the contest. For the season, Becker is averaging 19.5 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and 2.7 blocks per game for the 2-4 Rockets. 

Ameerah Grant, sr., Brown Deer – Grant, a 5-4 guard, scored a game-high 35 points in a 101-43 loss to D1 No. 1 Pewaukee on Friday. Ameerah averages a state-best 39.3 points per game for the Falcons, 1-2 overall and 0-0 in the Woodland East.  

Notable Streaks Snapped

De Pere snapped Notre Dame's 69-game FRCC winning streak, beating the Tritons, 56-42, on Friday. The Redbirds were led by junior Abigail Tassoul (5-5) and sophomore Aubree Fischer (5-9), who finished with 14 and 12 points, respectively. De Pere is 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the FRCC. This was the Tritons' first loss in league play since the 2019-20 season when they lost to Pulaski (2/8/2020). Box Score

Markesan ended Randolph's 59-game Trailways West winning streak on Thursday, topping the Rockets 43-37. The Hornets were paced by junior Rylee Hoffman (5-7) and sophomore Peyton Jenkins (5-6), who finished with 10 points each. Box Score 

Tomahawk snapped its 54-game Great Northern losing streak last Tuesday, defeating Antigo, 58-34. Junior Freya Alberg (5-11) scored a career-best 30 points to lead the Hatchets. Tomahawk followed that up with a league win over Northland Pines, 42-39, on Friday. The Hatchets are 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the GNC. 

Cumberland ended its 37-game losing streak on Tuesday, defeating Ashland, 34-29. Senior Macy Beecroft (5-6) led the Beavers with 18 points. 

Bayfield snapped its 36-game losing streak last Monday, beating Fond du Lac Ojibwe, Minn., 54-49. This is the program's first win since the 2019-20 season. 

Muskego knocks off Arrowhead

Muskego upset defending Division 1 state champion Arrowhead, 64-57, in a Classic Eight contest on Friday. 

The Warriors, ranked No. 9 in the Week 1 Division 1 WSN Coaches Poll, were led by 5-10 senior Melena Glysch, a D-II Ferris State recruit, who finished with 14 points, nine rebounds, and three assists. Senior Autumn Dibb (5-10, D-II Quincy recruit) and junior Mallory Glysch (5-9) added 11 points each. 

Natalie Kussow, one of the top juniors in the nation, led Arrowhead with 24 points. 

Arrowhead, ranked No. 2 in the D1 WSN Coaches Poll, drops to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the Classic Eight.
