Thursday, December 12

Ashwaubenon (D2, #2) at Bay Port
Bay Port has lost two straight after an impressive opening season win over Stevens Point. Ashwaubenon is 3-0 and rolling behind the play of senior sensation Amari Allen. It's the first Fox River Classic conference game for either team and could serve as a measuring stick for both.

Milwaukee Bradley Tech at Brookfield East
Bradley Tech has won its first three games pretty handily against teams the Trojans should and did handle business with. Brookfield East's only blemish is a five-point loss to Division 2, top-ranked Wauwatosa West. East has done a good job of putting together a challenging front of the schedule, while this will be the first real test for Bradley Tech.

West Allis Central (D1, #10) at Dominican (D3, #4)
Talent is in abundance in this one as two top ten teams in their respective divisions square off in a non-conference tilt. Yusef Gray Jr. leads a Central offense that has four ten-point per game scorers. For Dominican, the offensive prowess is apparent as the Knights are 3-0 and averaging 97.7 points per game.

Southwestern (D5, #10) at Ithaca
Ithaca will play its third game against a top ten team in Division 5 in five games and the second one this week, losing by two points to Ridge & Valley foe North Crawford on Tuesday. Southwestern rebounded from a 20-point loss to Mineral Point by scoring 103 points in a win over Iowa-Grant.

Caledonia at Onalaska (D2, #8)
A storied program out of Minnesota, Caledonia crosses the Mississippi River to take on Onalaska. Head coach Craig Kowal'st team is 3-0 and have a balanced scoring attack.

Friday, December 13

Phillips at Auburndale
Two Marawood teams on opposite sides of the conference enter this one each 3-0. Blake Raab and Thomas Aue are averaging 21.0 and 15.3 points per game for Auburndale, while Phillips is led by 22.3 points from Lane Abraham and three others that average over 11 points per game.

Elkhorn at Beloit Memorial
Two undefeated Southern Lakes enter, one will leave with a tally in the loss column. Both teams have plenty of varsity experience and that has shown in the early parts of this season. We're also on watch for junior guard Amare Hereford who is closing in on 1,000 career points with the Purple Knights.

Regis at Bloomer
Bloomer has not been tested too much in its first three games, with the tightest win margin at 19 points. Regis on the other hand has two wins of ten or less points and fell to Aquinas in a non-conference marquee matchup. It's the first real test for the Blackhawks, while Regis has been battled tested.

Mineral Point (D4, #1) at Darlington
A matchup of two perennial powerhouses from the SWAL conference makes this a game to tune in to Friday night. Mineral Point is the reigning Division 4 state champs and have rolled in the first three games of the season, winning by an average of 34 points per game. Darlington lost its opening game to Lancaster, but has rolled off two straight 20-plus point wins heading into this matchup.

Appleton East at Kaukauna (D1, #2)
Kaukauna will be playing just its second game of the season in this one. The Ghosts only game played was a thrilling, buzzer-beating win last Friday over Oshkosh North. Appleton East is the surprise team early on in Division 1 and have a chance to improve to 4-0 with another upset victory over a ranked team.

Abundant Life (D5, #4) at Marshall (D4, #10)
Two small-school ranked teams square off in this top-tier non-conference matchup. Marshall's two losses on the year are at the hands of the bigger Capitol-North teams Lodi and Lakeside Lutheran. Abundant Life is 3-0. Both of these squads are guard oriented, push the pace, and can score it. If that's your jam, this one is one to watch.

Mosinee at Medford
Both teams are undefeated and in the Great Northern conference. Medford is coming off a solid win over D.C. Everest and is led by Charlie Gierl and Nick Krause. Mosinee is getting over ten points per game from Brayden Reinke, Treve Stoffel, and Sebastian Anderson.

Waukesha West at Mukwonago
Waukesha West is 4-0 and rolling right now behind the play of Tyler Evenson and Aiden Owusu-Asiedu. Mukwonago has two tough losses to Wauwatosa West and Racine Park, and are battle-tested for the incoming Wildcats.

Oshkosh North (D1, #4) vs Nicolet (D2, #3) at 60Eight Tournament
Two of the top teams in the state square off in the opening game of the 608Eight Tournament at Madison College. Both have next level college prospects and play the game of basketball at an efficient and high level. This is the game of the night across the state.

North Crawford (D5, #6) at Seneca
Two very fundamental and well coached Ridge & Valley squads will do battle in this one. Crawford is coming off a close two-point win over Ithaca and looking to make it 2-0 in the conference on the week. Seneca's lone loss is to D5, second-ranked Royall.

Wausau West at Stevens Point
This game is mentioned for the fact that SPASH senior Grant Chandonais is 22 points from 1,000 in his career and has an opportunity to cross that milestone in front of the home crowd against a conference opponent.

Madison Memorial (D1, #6) at Sun Prairie East
Memorial is undefeated, ranked sixth in the state in Division 1, and has played very well early on this season for legendary coach Steve Collins. Sun Prairie East scores in bunches, averaging over 93 points per game and suffering just one loss, to Waunakee. This Big Eight conference matchup will likely have a lot of scoring and a few highlight plays.

Menomonee Falls (D1, #7) at Wauwatosa West (D2, #1)
If Oshkosh North v Nicolet is the game of the night, this is the second headliner. Falls has scored at an extremely high rate and is a week removed from a seven-point win over Germantown. Tosa West suffered its first loss of the season to the same Germantown team on Tuesday and will be looking to bounce back against another Greater Metro foe.

Wisconsin Lutheran (D1, #8) at Whitnall
Wisconsin Lutheran has rolled to three straight wins in the post-Kon Knueppel season. The Vikings seemed to have not skipped a beat under head coach Ryan Walz. Whitnall on the other hand has been up and down to start the year under first year head coach Andrew Wojcik. The Falcons have an impressive win over Racine St. Catherine's but have suffered losses to two very good teams in Kettle Moraine and Waterford.

Saturday, December 14

Marshfield (D1, #9) at Brookfield Central
Marshfield has bounced back well since its opening loss to Appleton East. The Tigers beat La Crosse Central by 27 as Brooks Hinson and Valin Ramberg have led the way. Central is 2-2 with close losses to both Wisconsin Lutheran and West Allis Hale. Anthony Rise is averaging over 25 points per game for the Lancers through its first four contests.

Mosinee vs Freedom (D3, #3) at Baird/Gustman Shootout at Kaukauna
Mosinee will be coming off a tough conference game with Medford the night before and have a quick turnaround to take on one of the top teams in Division 3 in Freedom. The Irish are rolling behind the combo of Donovan Davis and Drew Kortz.

Mount Horeb (D2, #4) vs Lake Mills (D3, #2) at 60Eight Tournament
Two top five teams with plenty of talent make this one a must see on Saturday. Both squads are undefeated and are led by a top end wing. Mount Horeb's Josh Manchester just became the school's all-time leading scorer and is a Division I college prospect. AJ Bender broke the record for points in a game earlier this season with Lake Mills and leads a squad that can score the ball in bunches from the perimeter.

Fort Atkinson at Oregon
This is one to watch in the Badger-Large conference as both teams are 1-0 in league play. Oregon is undefeated and led by junior wing Vaughn Karvala who is closing in on 1,000 career points (he'd need 50 in this one to get there). Fort Atkinson is coming off a surprising 33-point win over Beaver Dam and has been tested with its early season schedule to this point.

Appleton North vs Verona at 60Eight Tournament
A top notch Division 1 matchup pairs a FVA and Big Eight school against one another at Madison College in the 60Eight Tournament. Both teams have one loss on their record but are figured to be players not just in their respective conferences, but in Division 1 as a whole.
