Athlete of the Week Nominees: January 6-12

Hailee Bauer, Lourdes Academy

Bauer led the lady Knights basketball team to a third straight win this past Thursday in a 66-45 victory over Oakfield. The 5-7 senior guard paced all scorers with 26 on the night, making four shots from deep and finishing 10 of 20 from the field. Bauer added six assists, four rebounds, and four steals in the victory. For the season, Bauer is averaging 19.0 points per game and surpassed the 1,500 point mark in her career earlier in the season.

Jameson Beaman, Oconto Falls

Beaman had a great week scoring the ball and filling the stat sheet as he led Oconto Falls to a pair of wins. The junior guard began his week with 29 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists in a 66-57 win over Denmark. Beaman lit it up from deep, making seven of ten shots from beyond the arc. He then poured in 41 points in a 68-50 win over Coleman, a new high for him in his prep career. Beaman added eight more made threes on fifteen attempts while tallying eight rebounds and three assists.

Avery Blue, Madison Memorial

Blue broke two school records as Memorial cruised to an 84-29 win over Madison East. The junior guard scored a new school record 34 points in the win. She was 12 of 19 from the field and 10 of 15 from three. The ten made three point shots also sets a new record for Madison Memorial. Blue added seven steals, five rebounds, and three assists. The most impressive part of this performance, she did it all in the first half.

Ben Brown, Muskego Co-op Ice Force

Brown is a junior forward on the Muskego co-op boys hockey team, but goes to Franklin High School. He had an incredible two games this past week, leading the Ice Force to a pair of victories. First in a 9-1 win over the Janesville Bluebirds Brown netted four goals. The Ice Force then knocked off Cedarburg 10-3 and Brown was equally impressive. The junior forward scored five goals on his own while assisting on two more in the victory.

Tyler Tiutczenko, Pewaukee

Tiutczenko led Pewaukee to a pair of wins on back-to-back nights while shooting the lights out from deep. Friday night, the Pirates got a quality 76-65 win over Woodland-West foe New Berlin West. The junior wing finished with 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. He was 7 of 10 from the field and 4 of 6 from deep. The Pirates then traveled to Minnesota to take on Edina on Saturday. Pewaukee came away with an 89-64 victory. Tiutczenko finished with a game high 30 points on 8 of 11 shooting from deep and 10 of 14 overall. He added eight rebounds and two assists.
