Below are some of the top moments, statistical nights, and more from this week in boys basketball.

Monday, January 20

Messmer 79, Kenosha Christian Life 74
Messmer picked up win number eight on Monday night behind a few big performances from a few different players. Sophomore wing Breon Bennett recorded a triple-double for the Bishops, tallying 18 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 steals. Senior forward Seth Irving had 10 points while dominating the glass with 20 rebounds. Junior guard Amarre Johnson led all scorers for Messmer with 20 points. Freshman Kaeden King and junior Davontay Carr-Hopgood both scored in double figures as well.

Amari Allen, Ashwaubenon
Allen has been a nightmare for opposing teams this year and the senior wing is has led Ashwaubenon to back-to-back quality wins. The best matchup in the state last night, the Jaguars knocked off a rolling West De Pere team 73-64. Allen notched his fourth 40-point game in this one, finishing with a game high 41 points.

Carter Uppena, Royall
It was a night to remember for the senior guard out of Royall as he and the Panthers knocked off Westby 66-49. Uppena, who is averaging over 20 points per game, scored a game high 30 points in this one. In doing so, Carter became the school's all-time leading scorer. He's helped Royall to a 12-0 start to the season and one of only six undefeated teams left in the state.

Wednesday, January 22

Daniel Cleary, Lake Country Lutheran
Cleary was dominant as Lake Country Lutheran continued its winning ways on Wednesday. The senior forward scored a game high 26 points on 10 of 14 shooting, and adding 15 rebounds as the Lightning took home a 79-68 win over a pesky Messmer team.

Alex Mueller, Muskego
Mueller did a great job of leading the Warriors to a 66-61 non-conference win over Franklin, to improve to 6-9. The 5-9 lead guard paced Muskego with 26 points while also hauling in a team high six rebounds.

Racine Park 83, Racine Lutheran 69
In a battle of two extremely talented and competitive teams in the state, Park won the battle of Racine. Senior Isaiah Robinson led the way for the Panthers, scoring a game high 29 points in the win while shooting 11 of 16. He added six assists, four rebounds, three assists, and stellar defense. Senior 6-7 wing Jaxson Moss was equally impressive, scoring 17 points and hauling in 10 rebounds. Sophomore Cole Betker had a season high 15 to round out the top scorers for Park.

West Allis Central 67, Brookfield East 65
It was fitting that it took all 36 minutes of this game to determine a winner between these two solid Division 1 squads. Tied at 65, West Allis Central had the last possession with around 15 seconds left. Recent Iowa State commit Yusef Gray Jr. drove the lane, got to the rim, and just missed the game winning layup. Fortunately for him and the Bulldogs, 6-10 junior Kevin Pittman was there for the put back at the rim and time expired on the Central win.

Thursday, January 23

Eli Lindsey, Mineral Point
Lindsey outscored Boscobel as a team in the Pointer's 86-38 SWAL conference win on Thursday night. The senior wing finished with a career high 41 points in the victory. Coming into this one, he needed 43 to hit 1,000 which he nearly accomplished. Instead, he'll likely join his brother Isaac and sister Mallory in the 1,000 point club on Saturday, which coincidentally his father Matt will be an inductee during the school's Hall of Fame night.

Anthony Rise, Brookfield Central
Rise continued his roll as Central handled West Allis Hale 82-53. The senior guard poured in 38 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 15 of 22 from the field in the victory. It's the seventh straight win for the surging Lancers, and during that stretch Rise is averaging 27.1 points per game while shooting 57.1% from the field.

Holmen 73, Onalaska 66
Holmen took home a season sweep of Onalaska, which according to Todd Sommerfeldt had not happened in nearly 20 years of this rivalry. Senior lead guard Keenan Eisermann led all scorers with 24 points while Alex Berget and Kaiden Wilber added 18 and 14 points respectively for the Vikings. Broden Steiner and Ian Kowal both had 18 to lead Onalaska. Holmen improved to 4-1 in league play and will face off with another contender in Aquinas next Tuesday.

Bonduel 61, Iola-Scandinavia 58
Iola showed it's competitive potential in this loss to an undefeated Bonduel team that won via a half-court shot at the buzzer. Thunderbird sophomore Alex Robbins tied it up with three seconds left, as he finished with a game high 26 points. From there, Bonduel inbounded from full court. A tipped inbound pass that was caught by Carter Moesch was then tossed to Race Anvelink who buried the shot above for the thrilling win for Bonduel.

Aiden Hawkinson, Waupun
It was a difficult night of shooting from the field for the senior wing in a game with East Central foe Kettle Moraine Lutheran. However, Hawkinson continually put pressure on the defense and made free throws down the stretch to help Waupun to a 72-68 victory. The 6-2 senior finished with 25 points and while he was just 3 of 14 from the field, he made 19 of 25 free throw attempts.

Aaron Bartol, Berlin
Berlin improved to 8-5 on the season as Bartol recorded a triple-double in a 71-55 win over Kewaskum. The senior wing had 11 of each points, rebounds, and assists, effecting the game at every aspect offensively.

Conor Cruz, Howards Grove
Cruz led the Tigers to a twelfth straight win in an 80-69 victory over Manitowoc Lutheran on Thursday. The 6-4 senior forward poured in a high of 34 points in the win while teammate and 1,000 point scorer Trent Gruenewald added 24 points.

Charlie Gierl, Medford
Gierl poured in a career high in scoring as Medford knocked off Stanley-Boyd in a tough non-conference matchup Thursday night. The senior guard had 31 points in the 67-57 win.

Wonewoc-Center 41, Necedah 37
It had been five years since Wonewoc-Center had won a game in the Scenic Bluffs conference. That streak is now over with Thursday night's win over Necedah. Sophomore forward Cam Thellefson paced the Wolves with 22 points in the win.

Wisconsin Lutheran 71, Pewaukee 53
Wisco still has yet to lose to a Wisconsin team since March 11, 2023. That loss came to these Pewaukee Pirates in a sectional final game. Wisco got its fourth straight win over the Pirates since that matchup on Thursday night and now sit alone atop the Woodland-West standings. The Vikings got double-digit scoring outputs from Zavier Zens, Isaiah Mellock, and Alex Greene.

Kayden Schultz, Plymouth
Schultz has been one of the better scorers in the state this season as he is averaging 28.2 points per game through 15 games. Thursday night in a 97-54 win over Winneconne, Schultz poured in 34 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds. He made 6 of 12 shots from deep, where he's shooting 35.1% on the season.

Logan Laine, South Milwaukee
Laine had a career night as he led South Milwaukee to an 86-80 double overtime victory over St. Augustine Prep. The 6-8 senior center poured in 42 points in the win, a high for him during his varsity playing experience.

Grant Chandonais, Stevens Point
Stevens Point traveled down to Sun Prairie to take on the Wolves of the West on Thursday night. SPASH came away with an 84-56 victory behind the play of their senior leader. Chandonais paced all scorers with 30 in the victory, his second 30-plus scoring output of the season.

Friday, January 24

JT Schlaefer, Assumption
Schlaefer saved his best offensive possession for last as Assumption took home a 61-59 win over Prentice. The junior lead guard finished the game with 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists, but made the biggest play of the game when his team needed him to. Schlaefer hit a pull up jumper with under eight seconds left to secure the win for the Royals.

Jake Hansen, Wauwatosa West
Tosa West may have lost its Greater Metro matchup with Brookfield East last night, but Hansen etched his name into the program's history book. Hansen finished with 18 points in the 71-62 loss to Brookfield East. In doing so, the senior sharpshooter became Tosa West's all-time leading scorer.

Sam Fait, Catholic Central
Fait tallied a new high in scoring in Catholic Central's 72-64 win over Faith Christian. The sophomore wing poured in 51 points in the win, making 12 of 14 free throws in the process. Fait added 12 rebounds.

De Pere 66, Notre Dame 57
De Pere added another ranked win to its résumé and in doing so, took over sole possession of first in the ultra-competitive Fox Rivers Classic Conference. The Redbirds got a game high 24 points from Wisconsin commit Zach Kinziger, 16 from UW-Eau Claire commit Roan Demovsky, and 13 from Northern Michigan commit Pryce Gregoire.

Aiden Crane, Parkview
Crane is just 14 games into his junior season but Friday he hit a career milestone. In Parkview's 82-60 win over Hustisford, Crane poured in a game high 40 points. He joined the 1,000 point club in the process.

Trey Frye, Menomonee Falls
Frye had a double-double in the Phoenix' 72-68 overtime win over Greater Metro foe Germantown. He paced Falls with 25 points and facilitated equally with 11 assists.

Brody Olson, Glenwood City
Olson dominated the game with his scoring, passing, and rebounding on Friday night as Glenwood City knocked off Plum City/Elmwood 64-53. The junior forward had a team high 22 points while going 8 of 8 from the free throw line. Olson added 11 rebounds and and 11 assists, to record his second triple-double of the season.

Amari Allen, Ashwaubenon
Another day, another incredible performance by Amari Allen. It feels like every night the Alabama commit is filling the stat sheet and willing Ashwaubenon to victories. That was the story again on Friday night in an 85-74 win over Green Bay Preble. Allen scored 50 points, a new season high, just four days after scoring 41 points.

Kaukauna 103, Oshkosh North 94
These two teams played an instant classic in their first matchup of the season, a game-winner at the buzzer by Andrew Jensen for Kaukauna. This one had plenty of scoring as well. Kaukauna was led by Keegan Van Kauwenberg with 38 points, 9 assists, and 6 rebounds while knocking down 8 of 11 shots from deep. Andrew Jensen added 24 points and 11 rebounds and Brody McMullin added 21 points for the Ghosts.

For North, Zay Mitchell continues to put a huge scoring load on his back. He poured in 50 points, his second fifty-point game of the season and sixth scoring over 40 points.

Colby 69, Loyal 48
Colby picked up one of the more surprising smaller school wins of the season Friday night, knocking off the sixth-ranked team in Division 5. The Hornets were led by 5-9 senior guard Landon Steinman with 22 points and 6-7 senior Tucker Hayes with 18 points.

Kenyon Miggins, Marshall
Miggins has the Cardinals clicking on all cylinders right now, including Friday night's 75-48 win over Wisconsin Heights. The senior lead guard finished with 13 points in the victory, but more importantly joined the 1,000 point club for his time at Marshall.

Drew Daoust, Southern Door
Daoust helped Southern Door get an 81-64 win over Oconto on Friday and in doing so, climbed the ranks of all-time scorers in state history yet again. The senior finished with 40 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, and 5 steals in the victory. He surpassed 2024 G-E-T graduate Cody Schmitz and is now fourth on the state's all-time scoring list.

Slinger 69, Port Washington 68
For the second time this season, Slinger won via a game winner. With just over two seconds left on the clock, junior Colton Mantz drove the lane, and made a floater that hit nothing but net and won the game for the Owls. Mantz finished with six points as sophomore Jack Kohnen poured in a team high 29.

Jaxson Moss, Racine Park
Moss has been on a tear this season with Park, completing taking over games with his combination of skill and size. The 6-7 senior took over once again in Park's 98-60 win over Kenosha Tremper. He finished with a game high 39 points on 17 of 27 shooting, adding 8 rebounds.

Calvin Bahr, Aquinas
Bahr set a new high in scoring as Aquinas took care of Tomah 78-59 on Friday night. The sophomore wing broke out with a 30-point performance for the Blugolds. Bahr is a key piece for an Aquinas squad that has eyes on a repeat trip to the Kohl Center.

Kaiden Rotering, Arcadia
Rotering has put together a strong senior year to this point with Arcadia, and led the Raiders to an 8-7 record. The senior lead guard poured in a career high 31 points Friday night in a thrilling 75-72 double-overtime win over Arcadia.

Jase Navis, Mauston
Navis has been impressive as a freshman with Mauston this season. At 6-5 he's poised, can score from all three levels, and is comfortable with the ball in his hand in most spots on the court. Friday in a 66-63 win over Wautoma, Navis poured in a new high 44 points.

West Bend West 85, Nicolet 78
West has been on a roll as of late, and on Friday night, the Spartans took down the Division 2, second-ranked Knights. Senior wing and NCAA Division III UW-La Crosse commit Carson Bauer was spectacular for West. He led them in scoring with 33 points while teammates Eddie Scott, Cullen Roell, and Cal Baker all scored in double figures.

Saturday, January 25

Kaden MacKenzie, Waunakee
The top team on either side of the Badger conference squared off in the Badger Challenge Saturday with MacKenzie and the Division 1, fourth-ranked Warriors took down the Division 2, second-ranked Vikings of Mount Horeb 65-54. The senior wing led all scorers with 27 points as Waunakee extended its win streak to seven.

West Bend West 55, West Allis Hale 53
West Bend West got an upset win over Nicolet on Friday night and followed it up with a thrilling game winner over Hale on Saturday. As time expired, Cal Baker dribbled baseline, pulled up, and hit the game-winning shot shown above to push West's win streak to five games. Senior forward Carson Bauer continued his great senior year with a game high 35 points int he win. He's now just three points away from being West's all-time leading scorer.

Kayden Schultz, Plymouth
Schultz has scored 30-plus points plenty of times over the past three season for Plymouth. Saturday, in an 89-86 win over Wauwatosa East, the junior guard poured in 41 points for the Panthers. Schultz was five of ten from three and added seven rebounds and seven assists in the victory.

Daniel Franklin IV, Oak Creek
Franklin had a huge game as Oak Creek knocked off Division 1, sixth-ranked Sheboygan North 74-70 in the Warhawk Invitational at Germantown. The senior guard poured in a career best 33 points for the Knights.

Anthony Rise, Brookfield Central
Brookfield Central has been on an absolute roll in 2025, winning all eight games in the month of January. Rise has been a huge reason why. In a 74-63 win over Whitefish Bay, Rise poured in 36 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. Over the past eight games, the senior lead guard is averaging 28.3 points per game and shooting nearly 60% from the field.

Jack Lutz, Whitnall
Like Brookfield Central mentioned above, Whitnall has yet to lose in the calendar year of 2025. Lutz made sure that continued in a 64-60 win over Kimberly. The senior guard had a career high 44 points in the win, making 6 of 12 shots from deep. Senior backcourt mate Myles Herro filled the stat sheet with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists.

Eli Lindsey, Mineral Point
It was a day to remember for Lindsey and his entire family as Mineral Point knocked off Belleville 68-39. The senior wing scored a modest 13 points in this one, two days after pouring in 41. In doing so Eli joined the 1,000 point club, joining his older brother Isaac and older sister Mallory, both who did it with the Pointers. On top of that, Eli's father Matt was an inductee into the Mineral Point Hall of Fame, which was honored on Saturday.

Southwestern
Southwestern finished up what it is one of the most impressive three game stretches of any small school team in the state on Saturday. The Wildcats came into a matchup with undefeated North Crawford having knocked off previously undefeated and the top-ranked team in Division 4 Mineral Point last Friday, then beating ranked Abundant Life Christian on Thursday. Clint Nemitz' squad held off North Crawford 55-53, handing the Trojans their first loss of the season, and giving the Wildcats their third straight top-ten victory and second win over an undefeated team.

Zay Mitchell, Oshkosh North
Mitchell has been putting up video game numbers for North this season and that continued in Saturday's 86-50 win over Oshkosh West. The senior wing had poured in 50 points the previous night in a grueling loss to Kaukauna. How he would follow that up you may ask? By pouring in 51 points in this victory. With those back-to-back 50-point outings, Mitchell moved into the tenth spot amongst all-time scorers in state history.
