Black River Falls junior Calvin Lakowske has been selected as the Box Out Sports Athlete of the Week for the week of January 20-26 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net. 

There were 3,243 total votes this week. Lakowske topped all vote getters with 1,203 votes. Mineral Point's Eli Lindsey finished in second with 804 votes.

Lakowske was electric on the ice as Black River Falls secured a pair of victories to improve to 10-7 on the season. The junior forward netted four goals and assisted on two more in a 9-1 win over Spooner on Friday. Saturday Lakowske had two goals and two assists in the 6-2 win over Menomonie. Lakowske has been one of the best scorers in the state this season as he's third in points scored (64) and second in goals scored (40).
