Triple Threat Athlete of the Week: Jack Tubbs, Stratford

The Triple Threat Athlete of the Week is an honor given on WisSports.net to the top senior boys and girls three-sport athletes in the state. Players are recognized each week on WSN, with a boys and girls winner of the Pat Richter Award at the end of the season to the best three-sport athlete of the year.

The Triple Threat Athlete of the Week is presented by the U.S. Marine Corps. The award recognizes student athletes who embody the spirit of teamwork, perseverance, and discipline across multiple sports. The mission of Marine Corps Recruiting Station Milwaukee is to find qualified men and women in Wisconsin and the surrounding area interested in becoming a United States Marine. Marines maintain the legacy of the Marine Corps by winning our nations battles and returning to their communities as quality citizens whether they are active duty or reservist. The coveted title of Marine applies only to those who graduate from the Recruit Depots or Officer Candidate School. RS Milwaukee will provide any qualified man or woman the opportunity to attend the training required to become a Marine - Enlisted or Officer.

Wrestling Honors: a member of the WIAA Team State Tournament qualifying team as a sophomore... Marawood conference champion as a junior... two-time sectional qualifier going into senior season.

Baseball Honors: three year varsity starter... batted .313 with 21 hits, 15 RBIs, 11 stolen bases; first-team all-Marawood South as a freshman... batted .514 with 36 hits, 16 RBIs, 17 stolen bases, 2 home runs; first team all-conference, Marawood-South Conference Player of the Year as a sophomore... batted .342 with 26 hits, 22 RBIs, 18 stolen bases, 1 home run; first team all-conference, WBCA second-team All-District as a junior... helped lead Stratford to conference titles as a freshman and junior and a regional title as a freshman.

Favorite Sport (and why): "It’s a tie between baseball and football. I have made great memories in both and would not trade one for the other."

Best Part of High School Sports (and why): "Getting the brotherhood in all sports and the memories you make with your teammates and friends."

Best Advice from a High School Coach: “Losing is not a bad thing, it’s not learning from your losses that’s the bad thing.”

Most Memorable Moment in High School Sports: "Throwing a game-winning touchdown to Alec Chapel to beat Praire Du Chien to go to state."

Best Part of Playing Three Sports: "Constantly being busy and having something to improve at."

Most Difficult Part of Playing Three Sports: "Finding time to be good at every sport and being mentally ready to switch sports every three months."

Favorite Opponent (and why): "Edgar because it is such a deep rivalry and great tradition in Stratford. No matter the teams the game will always be close and exciting."

moves for such a big guy."

Most Admired High School Teammate (and why): "Johnny Seitz, when I was a sophomore he was a senior and took me under his wing and pushed me to be where I am today."

College Plans: "Attend Saint Mary’s in Winona to play baseball and pursue a degree that is unknown at the moment."
