Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee was the site of the inaugural Deer District Prep showcase on Saturday, featuring five games throughout the day. Thank you to the Milwaukee Bucks, especially Michael Belot, for producing this event and asking us to be involved. Plans are already underway for the 2026 Deer District Prep Showcase.
Below is a recap of the action, followed by the All-Showcase Team as selected by WSN's Travis Wilson.
The first game of the day turned out to be the best, with Kohler scoring the win when Max Breitenbach hit a fadeaway at the buzzer to lift the Blue Bombers to a 63-61 victory over Lake Mills. Video of the game-winner is below.

Kohler won despite seeing a late lead slip away, as the Blue Bombers had the advantage virtually the entire game. Lake Mills tied it with 5.8 seconds remaining when A.J. Bender made one of two free throws.
Breitenbach, who earned Player of the Game honors, finished with 20 points to lead Kohler, who also got 16 points from Zane Willadsen. Carter Zimmerman made it three players in double figures with ten. Kohler, the seventh-ranked team in the last WisSports.net Division 4 Coaches Poll, moves to 17-3, including an impressive 81-68 win over Platteville on Friday night before making the trek to Milwaukee.
Lake Mills was led by Bender's 21 points, while Brady Benish poured in 14 to go with six rebounds and three assists. Tyler Wollin scored six points but added eight rebounds and five assists. The L-Cats were ranked third in Division 3 but dip to 16-3 with the defeat.
Hortonville used a big first half to cruise home for a 74-60 win over Oconomowoc in the second game of the Deer District Prep Showcase.
The Polar Bears got balanced scoring on the day, but it was Riley Mueller's 17 points and steady play throughout that led the way for Hortonville. The Polar Bears did their damage in the paint, connecting on just three, three-point baskets.
Hortonville led 35-19 at halftime, though Oconomowoc was able to put more offense together after the break. It turned out to be too late, however, as the Raccoons just didn't have the firepower to get all the way back into it.
Owen Sipes (16 points, six rebounds) and Alden Rogers (10 points, five assists) were also in double figures for Hortonville, with junior Ethan Joling flashing his strong all-around potential as well. Riley Mueller was recognized as the Player of the Year.
Ben Jimenez did all he could to keep Oconomowoc in it, scoring a game-high 18 points with ten rebounds. Santiago Conigliaro had a nice game with 11 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
Racine Park and Milwaukee Juneau went at each other for 36 minutes, but the tenacity and depth of Park was too much, as the Panthers scored a 70-55 victory.
Park controlled the action from the start, showing relentlessness on both ends of the court. The Panthers led 39-22 at halftime, though Juneau was able to cut it to seven in the second half before Park pulled away.
Continuing his strong senior season, Jaxson Moss was the Player of the Game, recording 16 points and 16 rebounds in the win. Isaiah Robinson added 14 points, with sophomore Zare Gwinn contributing 11 for the Panthers.
Milwaukee Juneau sophomore Dooney Johnson went over 1000 career points early in the game, and finished with 23 points for the Pioneers, adding seven rebounds. Takis Tyler had a strong game with 15 points, four rebounds, and four assists.
Stevens Point seemed to be in control of things, holding a 51-37 halftime advantage on Sun Prairie East, but it turned out to be an exciting one, with SPASH toughing out a 79-73 win.
The Panthers could do little wrong offensively in the 51-point first half, also limiting the state's leading scorer, Chris Davis, Jr., to just ten points in the opening period. However, after halftime, Davis, Jr. exploded, knocking down five, three-pointers en route to 20 points after the break to help the Cardinals get back into it.
Sun Prairie East stormed all the way back to tie the game at 71 when Max Raimer converted a steal into a breakaway dunk with 1:30 remaining, but Stevens Point got a dunk of its own on the other end when Jayden Awe threw one down, and the Panthers executed down the stretch to secure the win.
Grant Chandonais was the Player of the Game, scoring 26 points for Stevens Point. Jayden Awe added 17 points and seven rebounds, with Jerrin Suehs playing a pivotal role, knocking down five, three-pointers.
Chris Davis, Jr. rebounded from a tough first half to finish with 30 points, while Max Raimer played a big role as well with 22 points.
Steal and slam by Max Rainer ties the game but Jayden Awe answers with his own throwdown to put Stevens Point back on top. One minute remaining. #wisbb pic.twitter.com/HdZ58FfI32

The final game of the night was the most anticipated, with a pair of state tournament teams from last season squaring off to close out the 2025 Deer District Prep Showcase. Unbeaten Kettle Moraine and Nicolet went toe-to-toe, but it was Kettle Moraine that stayed undefeated with a 73-62 victory that had the feel and atmosphere of a state tournament game.
Roman Thompson carried Kettle Moraine to the win with an event-high 34 points, attacking the basket over-and-over while also knocking down shots from the outside. Zach Froemming had a huge game as well, scoring 17 points with 10 rebounds. Ben Bestor chipped in with 13 points for the Lasers, who move to 19-0.
Nicolet battled the entire way, with strong performances from David Bolden, Rashaad Davis, and Edward Bullock. the trio combined for 54 of the team's 62 points, as Davis led the way with 22 points, Bullock scored 18, and Bolden finished with 14.
