Janesville Parker sophomore Brayden Garey has been selected as the Box Out Sports Athlete of the Week for the week of February 3-9 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net. 

There were 3,586 total votes this week. Garey topped all vote getters with 1,301 votes. Kettle Moraine's Roman Thompson finished in second with 817 votes.

Garey was one of three individual champions for the Janesville Parker wrestling team this past weekend that took home the Big Eight conference tournament team title. The Vikings finished with 237.5 total points, finishing just ahead of Verona who had 230.5. Garey, just a sophomore advanced to the state tournament last season and wrestled in the 113-pound weight class. On Saturday, Garey won the individual conference title at 120 pounds. He recorded three pins to do so. Garey will wrestle this upcoming Saturday, February 15 at Milton High School in a Division 1 regional meet.
