Kohnen was spectacular as he led Slinger to a pair of wins and a clinch of the first conference championship for the Owls in over two decades. One of the top sophomores in the state, Kohnen poured in back-to-back 30-plus point games last week. He began the week with 30 points on 10 of 19 shooting and added 16 rebounds in a 71-44 win over Whitefish Bay. Kohnen and the Owls then squared off with Nicolet in a Division 2, top-five matchup. Koss will compete in this weekend's individual sectional wrestling after he took home a regional championship this past weekend while wrestling at Richland Center. The junior grappler scored a pin over Richland Center's Ethan Hady in the final bout of the 120-pound division, to secure his title. Koss' individual title was a reason why the G-E-T/Melrose-Mindoro co-op won the team championship with a score of 275 points. Last year as a sophomore, Koss finished third at state in the 106-pound weight class in Division 2.
Seubert had a heck of week, leading SPASH to three straight wins and a clinch of the Wisconsin Valley conference title. The sophomore guard started her week off by pouring in 30 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 blocks in a 67-46 win over Marshfield. Seubert then had a career high 39 points in the Panther's 82-76 victory over Regis. She added five each of assists, rebounds, and steals. Seubert finished her week with 23 points, 6 assists, 5 steals, and 3 rebounds in a 71-48 win over Wisconsin Rapids. Over the three games, she was almost automatic from the free throw line, going 35 of 38 from the charity stripe.
Stieber-Pinter has upped his scoring output by eight points per game this season and it's paid dividends for a Greenfield team that is 20-1 on the year. Tuesday the Hustlin' Hawks squared off with Whitnall and came away with an 82-79 win and built a two-game lead in the Woodland-West. Stieber-Pinter had 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists in the win. The senior wing then went off as Greenfield beat Brown Deer 99-89 on Thursday. Stieber-Pinter poured in a career high 46 points in the victory and added 10 rebounds. Stieber-Pinter and Greenfield clinched at least a share of the Woodland-East title and have a chance to win it outright by winning one of its next two league games.
