This season, we are going to preview the best matchups, storylines, etc twice a week for the entirety of the boys basketball season. Sunday we will preview the games played Monday-Wednesday, then on Wednesday we'll preview Thursday-Saturday's slate.

West De Pere (13-6) at Bay Port (11-10)
West De Pere is coming off a two-point, late-game loss to Xavier; only the second loss of 2025 for the Phantoms. Bay Port on the other hand has played some of the best teams in the FRCC close with single-digit losses to Ashwaubenon and De Pere and a win over Sheboygan North. Though the record may not be great, the Pirates have been playing well as of late and will be a good matchup with this West De Pere team.
Birchwood (11-7; 10-3 in Lakeland-East) at Flambeau (16-3; 11-2 in Lakeland-East)
This will be the first of two matchups between these two teams played this week. Lakeland-East title implications are at play during this week between these two teams, as they look to keep pace with New Auburn. A loss by Birchwood tonight would leave the Bobcats two games back with just two games left.
D5 #7 Cochrane-Fountain City (18-1) at Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau (12-8)
CFC has been pretty dominant during this season, playing mostly Division 4 and 5 teams. The Pirates will get a challenge as they travel to G-E-T to take on the Red Hawks out of the Coulee conference.
Cedarburg (13-7) at Kettle Moraine Lutheran (12-8)
Kettle Moraine Lutheran is in the midst of a title race in the East Central conference and has a huge matchup with Waupun next Thursday that will likely determine if the Chargers get a share of the league crown. Cedarburg may be out of the race in the North Shore, but are looking to improve its resume for seeding purpose, as well as build on the momentum the Bulldogs have created with its five-game win streak.
Platteville (15-6) at D4 #2 Mineral Point (18-1)
Two of the better programs in the southwest part of the state will square off in one of the better non-conference matchups late in the year. Both are in the mix for one-seeds in their respective sub-sectionals, and a win Monday night would help in the regard. Both of these squads are well-coached, fundamentally sound, and have strong athletic wings that can both score and defend.
Kickapoo (14-6; 8-3 in Ridge & Valley) at Seneca (14-5; 9-3 in Ridge & Valley)
North Crawford may have too big of a lead in the conference and will likely claim the league crown outright. So this game means a lot more in regards to seeding for these two teams who are battling for position in one of the best sub-sectionals in the state in Division 5.
Kettle Moraine Lutheran (12-9; 7-2 in East Central) at Berlin (13-7; 5-4 in East Central)
Kettle Moraine Lutheran is in the hunt for the East Central conference title, sitting one game behind Waupun in the loss column. Berlin has played better ball as of late and can play spoiler in this one, despite suffering an 81-62 loss back in early January. Berlin has beaten Lomira and lost to both Waupun and Laconia in close games.
Menomonee Falls (12-8; 8-5 in Greater Metro) at D2 #6 Brookfield Central (15-6; 10-3 in Greater Metro)
Both of these teams are in the hunt for the conference championship in the Greater Metro. The Lancers are alone at the top of the conference and control their own destiny. Central is coming off its first loss since the holiday break and the first matchup between these two teams was a 9-point Lancer win where they assisted on 22 of 32 made field goals. If Falls loses in this one, they will be out of the league race entirely.
Augusta (3-13) at D5 #7 Cochrane-Fountain City (18-2)
Cochrane-Fountain City is coming off a tough loss Monday night against Division 3 G-E-T. However, the Pirates now have a chance to clinch the Dairyland-Small conference with a win Tuesday night. CFC won the first matchup between these two teams 82-43 back on January 3.
Wayland Academy (11-4; 8-2 in Trailways-East) at Dodgeland (15-5; 9-2 in Trailways-East)
These two squads are squarely in the hunt for the league crown in the Trailways-East and a win by either team is a step in staying in that race. Wayland won the first matchup between these two squads back on December 12.
D1 #8 Waunakee (17-4; 10-1 in Badger-Large) at Fort Atkinson (14-6; 10-1 in Badger-Large)
Barring an upset loss by either team in one of its final two league games, this game will determine who wins the Badger-Large title this season. Waunakee won the first matchup 58-48 behind 20 points from Kaden MacKenzie and a dominating performance on the glass. For Fort, they are playing for the program's first conference title this millennium.
Alma Center Lincoln (15-5) at Hillsboro (16-4)
Two teams in Division 5 with 15-plus wins and playing for playoff seeding look to get a quality win in this one on Tuesday night. Hillsboro is in a stretch of its season where the competition has stiffened tremendously as the Tigers fell to Luther last week and have Royall and North Crawford on the docket for next week.
D1 #10 Appleton North (13-6; 10-5 in FVA) at D1 #10 Kaukauna (18-3; 13-2 in FVA)
Another night, another high quality matchup in the FVA. This time it pins two ranked teams against one another with conference implications on the line. Kaukauna and Fond du Lac are tied at 13-2 in the league and play each other next Thursday. First, the Ghosts have Appleton North, a team it fell to by one point back on January 10. Nathan Ramus dominated that first matchup for North, scoring 42 points, hitting the game-winner, and recording the game-clinching steal.
D3 #6 Lake Mills (17-4; 5-0 in Capitol-North) at Lodi (15-5; 5-1 in Capitol-North)
This matchup has a lot of meaning to it. Both teams are looking to capture the Capitol-North title. Both teams are also vying for the top seed in their sub-sectional. The first game between these two ended up a 69-45 win for Lake Mills. AJ Bender led the L-Cats with 24 points in the one and helped keep Lodi to just 17 of 46 shooting.
D4 #10 Saint Mary's Springs (17-4; 10-1 in Flyway) at Lomira (14-6; 8-3 in Flyway)
A win for Springs clinches at least a share of the league title and knocks Lomira out of contention. It's the start of three straight games for the Ledgers against the other three teams in the conference race. Lomira needs a win to stay alive, and will need to avenge a three-point loss from January 16. Lomira struggled with the size of Noah Moul and Emmitt Huhn of Springs in the first matchup as the senior duo combined for 40 points and 20 rebounds.
McFarland (14-6; 9-2 in Badger-Small) at Mount Horeb (18-2; 11-0 in Badger-Small)
With a win in this matchup, Mount Horeb clinches the Badger-Small title outright, its first since 2018-19. Even with a win, McFarland's chances of sharing the title are slim, but there would be a chance. The Vikings won the first matchup 77-64 as Josh Manchester dominated with 37 points.
Birchwood (12-7; 11-3 in Lakeland-East) at New Auburn (15-5; 12-2 in Lakeland-East)
Birchwood stayed alive in the Lakeland-East title race Monday night with a win over Flambeau. The Bobcats have an opportunity to force a three-way tie with a win over New Auburn on Tuesday. However, Birchwood will need to have made adjustments as the first time these two teams squared off, New Auburn won by 21.
Loyal (15-6; 8-4 in Cloverbelt-East) at Owen-Withee (15-4; 10-2 in Cloverbelt-East)
Owen-Withee has a chance to secure its first conference championship since the 2013-14 season with a win on Tuesday night. In order to do that, they'll need to beat a good Loyal team for a second time this season. The Blackhawks won by two in overtime back on January 16, limiting Loyal to just 1 of 11 shooting from deep.
Stanley-Boyd (12-9; 7-3 in Cloverbelt-West) at Regis (15-6; 8-3 in Cloverbelt-West)
These two teams are just one game behind Bloomer in the Cloverbelt-West standings in a wild conference race. For Regis, it's the last league game for the Ramblers and a must-win. The first game between these two was a 58-43 win for Stanley-Boyd, as the Orioles out-rebounded the Rambles 29-18 and made 16 of 22 free throws.
D5 #6 Highland (18-2; 15-1 in Six Rivers-West) at D5 #8 River Ridge (19-2; 14-2 in Six Rivers-West)
A top ten matchup between two teams vying for a conference title and playoff seeding makes this game one of the top matchups in the state in the early half of the week. The first matchup between these two squads was an 85-72 win for Highland where Wesley Kraisinger and Michael Esser combined for 47 points. The Cardinals made 18 of 23 free throws, a key reason why they took home the win.
D5 #5 North Crawford (18-1) at D5 #1 Royall (20-0)
This may be share the title with the game listed above as game of the night. Two of the top teams in Division 5, playing a non-conference matchup on a late February night. You can't ask for much more as a hoops fan. Not only is this a great matchup, but it could have very serious playoff implications. Both of these teams are in the same Division 5 sub-sectional and vying for the top seed.
D4 #3 Roncalli (18-1; 11-0 in EWC) at Sheboygan Falls (9-11; 6-5 in EWC)
The storyline here is Roncalli can clinch the Eastern Wisconsin conference outright with a win. The Jets do have a huge non-conference matchup with Bonduel on Wednesday as well.
Middleton (13-8; 10-5 in Big Eight) at Sun Prairie East (15-6; 12-3 in Big Eight)
Both teams are in the Big Eight title hunt, but a loss by Middleton eliminates them completely. In the first matchup between these two Cardinal programs, Middleton won 88-74 behind five players in double figures and forcing Sun Prairie East into 22 turnovers.
Pewaukee (14-6; 7-3 in Woodland-West) at D1 #1 Wisconsin Lutheran (19-2; 9-1 in Woodland-West)
Wisco has clinched at least a share of the Woodland-West title and with a win Tuesday night, clinch the title outright. They'd need to beat Pewaukee for a fifth straight time in order to do so. The Vikings won the first meeting 71-53, limiting Pewaukee to 17 of 47 shooting and out-rebounding the Pirates 34-22.
D4 #3 Roncalli (18-1) at D4 #1 Bonduel (20-0)
This was a late addition to the schedule for both teams and boy is a treat for the rest of the state to enjoy. Two of the top teams in Division 4 with Kohl Center aspirations will square off on the second-to-last Wednesday of the regular season. Both teams have a balanced scoring attack, are extremely well-rounded, and can play different styles of basketball to win games.
Cameron (15-5; 12-2 in HON) at Northwestern (13-7; 10-4 in HON)
Cameron has four games left in its conference schedule including this one and two more against the top contenders. With a win, the Comets inch closer to a conference crown. However, a Northwestern win makes the race a little more chaotic. Cameron won the first game between these two 64-41 behind 25 points from Treye Zimmerman and holding Northwestern to 8 of 31 from three.
D2 #10 Ashwaubenon (14-6; 9-6 in FRCC) at D2 #7 Notre Dame (17-3; 13-2 in FRCC)
These two played in a three-point game back in early January, where Notre Dame came away victorious. The Triton first five all scored in double digits as they weathered a 44 point performance from Ashwaubenon's Amari Allen.
