Conferences listed alphabetically A-L

Conference listed alphabetically M-W

Thursday, February 27

Parkview (13-10) at Abundant Life (17-6)
With a win Thursday night, Abundant Life clinches at least a share of the Trailways-South for the second straight season. The Challengers are tied with Deerfield at the top right now, so whether that title is outright or not, will determine Deerfield's result with Palmyra-Eagle.

Deerfield (19-4) at Palmyra-Eagle (13-10)
Palmyra will be looking to play spoiler for Deerfield as they look to share the Trailways-South crown with Abundant Life for the second straight season. Deerfield won the first matchup by 18, holding Palmyra to just 34 points and 0 for 10 from deep.

Westfield (19-4) at Adams-Friendship (12-11)
The Westfield boys basketball team has never won a title or a share of a title in the South Central conference. With a win over Adams-Friendship, they'll do just that. A share of the crown will be clinched, with outright title aspirations dependent on a Nekoosa upset of Wisconsin Dells.

Nekoosa (10-10) at Wisconsin Dells (18-5)
To put it lightly, Wisconsin Dells has owned the South Central conference as of late, winning seven straight league titles. The Chieftains can claim share a second straight one with a win and a Westfield win, or win outright with a Westfield loss. The Dells won the first matchup between these two teams 57-32, though Nekoosa did play without its top scorer Nash Krcmar.

D4 #6 Stratford (21-2) at Assumption (9-14)
Stratford put itself squarely in the hunt for a Marawood-South title after knocking off Auburndale earlier in the week and becoming even atop the standings. The Tigers will need to put away Assumption to claim at least a share of the conference crown, the first since 2020. Like many games tonight, whether the Marawood-South is an outright claim or not will depend on Auburndale's outcome with Marathon.

Marathon (15-8) at Auburndale (21-2)
As mentioned right above this, Auburndale fell to Stratford on Tuesday and is tied atop the Marawood-South standings. The Eagles now have another tough task ahead if they want to win the league crown for the first time since 2018. Auburndale will need to knock off a Marathon team they beat by three in double-overtime in earlier January.

Argyle (17-6) at Barneveld (17-6)
Barneveld has claimed a share of the Six Rivers-East crown and has a chance to win it outright on Thursday night for the third straight season. Argyle is playing for the first conference title in well over 20 years. The first matchup between these two squads was an 80-67 victory for Barneveld.

Marshall (18-5) at Cambridge (20-3)
The Capitol-South title is on the line as these two solid D4 teams square off for a second time. Cambridge has already clinched at least a share of the title and owns a win over Marshall from earlier in the season, a 20-point victory where Matt Buckman went off for 46 points. Containing him will be the key in this one as Marshall looks to win a share of the crown with a victory.

Ladysmith (17-6) at Cameron (16-7)
Cameron had a two game lead in the Heart O'North standings a week ago, but with back-to-back losses to Northwestern and Cumberland, there is now a three-way tie at the top. Ladysmith sits one game back and could force a larger tie dependent on Northwestern and Cumberland outcomes. Cameron is looking to win and clinch a share of the crown for the second straight season.

Cumberland (17-5) at Chetek-Weyerhaeuser (9-14)
As mentioned above, Cumberland forced a three-way tie atop the Heart O'North with a win over Cameron earlier this week. The Beavers have not won a conference title since 1972-73, a 52-year drought. A win against Chetek ends that half of a century gap.

Northwestern (16-7) at Spooner (5-17)
Like Cameron and Cumberland, win and claim a share of the Heart O'North crown. Winners of five of the past ten conference titles, the Tigers need to beat this Spooner team to make it six of eleven. Northwestern won the first matchup 84-69 behind 29 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists from Boden Teal.

Durand-Arkansaw (19-4) at Colfax (9-12)
Durand clinched a share of the Dunn-St. Croix earlier this week with a win over Spring Valley. With a win over Colfax on Thursday, the Panthers secure a second straight conference title. The first matchup was an 18-point win for Durand behind 29 points from Luke Weber.

D3 #6 Racine St. Catherine's (19-4) at Dominican (16-7)
As Racine St. Cats and Racine Lutheran split their season series and are tied atop the Metro Classic, this game could very well play spoiler for the Angels. The first matchup St. Cats won 79-65 holding Dominican to 3 of 15 from deep while being led by 36 points from junior LaMont Hamilton.

The Prairie School (9-14) at D3 #3 Racine Lutheran (21-2)
A win by Racine Lutheran and they claim a share of the Metro Classic Conference for the first time since the 2011-12 season. A loss by St. Cats and the Crusaders win the title outright. Lutheran will need to beat a Prairie School team again, after knocking them off 60-44 in late January.

Crandon (12-11) at Elcho (0-16)
Crandon is one win away from claiming at least a share of the Northern Lakes title for the first time since 2018. Elcho has yet to win a game this season and the last matchup with Crandon ended in a blowout loss.

Wabeno/Laona (12-11) at Florence (6-14)
Wabeno/Laona is currently tied in the Northern Lakes with Crandon with 8-1 records. Both have winnable games to clinch a share of the crown, with the Rebels traveling to Florence to end the regular season. With a win Wabeno/Laona will win its fourth title in seven seasons.

West De Pere (15-8) at Green Bay West (10-11)
The Phantoms are in sole possession of first place in the Bay Conference currently after Xavier fell to Seymour earlier in the week. A win on Thursday and West De Pere claims the title outright, though it has clinched a share coming into the game. The first matchup between these two squads was a 25-point win by West De Pere.

D4 #3 Aquinas (20-2) at Holmen (18-5)
Aquinas has clinched a share of the Mississippi Valley Conference title for the first time since 2010-11. A win on Thursday and it's outright. For Holmen, the Vikings have not sat atop the standings at the end of the season since 2015. Aquinas won the first matchup between these two back on January 28 54-50. Despite making just 2 of 20 three point attempts, the Blugolds also held a usually hot shooting Vikings squad to just 4 of 18 from deep.

D2 #6 Nicolet (17-6) at D1 #5 Homestead (18-5)
Though this matchup has zero conference title implications, it pits two ranked teams against each other in a heavyweight season finale. The first go around was a four-point win by Nicolet where David Bolden and Rashaad Davis scored 24 and 23 points and Ja'Meir Hayfort added 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Knights. Trevor Polite led Homestead with 23 points.

D1 #8 Fond du Lac (17-6) at D1 #4 Kaukauna (20-3)
Two ranked teams in Division1, playing for a conference crown, on the last full day of the regular season. What more could you ask for as a high school hoops fan? Fondy fell last week to a resurgent Oshkosh North group meaning Kaukauna has already clinched at least a share of the crown. The Cardinals are one game back and need to avenge an 18-point loss from earlier in the year. Kaukauna got 19 points from Keegan Van Kauwenberg and a double-double from Andrew Jensen in the first matchup whereas Marvin Haslett III led Fond du Lac with 17 points.

D3 #7 Lake Mills (19-4) at Lakeside Lutheran (15-7)
Lake Mills has already clinched an outright title in the Capitol-North conference but this cross-town matchup never disappoints in regards to the intensity of the rivalry. Add to that, Lake Mills AJ Bender is just nine points shy of 2,000 in his career and could hit that milestone on his respected rival's court.

West Salem (15-6) at Luther (18-5)
With West Salem falling to G-E-T last Friday, Luther is in the race for the Coulee title. West Salem has clinched a share of the crown, the fourth straight for the Panthers. Luther can force a share with a win. West Salem won the first matchup by 30, out-rebounding the Knights 43-25 and knocking down 14 shots from deep.

Rhinelander (17-5) at Medford (13-9)
Win and the conference title is yours. It's that simple in this matchup between the Hodgas and Raiders. Both teams have won titles in the past two seasons. Medford won the first matchup back on January 17, 71-63. Charlie Gierl had 32 points and 13 rebounds for the Raiders, who knocked down ten, three-point shots as a team.

Brookfield East (15-8) at Menomonee Falls (12-11)
Brookfield East is one of three teams tied atop the Greater Metro standings at 11-4. A win, and the Spartans win a share of its first conference title in the Greater Metro, dating back to the 1998. East won the first matchup between these two by 15, winning the rebounding battle and getting 20-plus point outputs from Zeke Sawall and TJ Platz.

D2 #10 Brookfield Central (16-7) at Wauwatosa East (4-17)
Brookfield had a one game lead over the rest of the field but losses to Germantown and Tosa West has caused a three-way tie atop the Greater Metro standings. The good news for the Lancers? Win and claim at least a share of the crown. Brookfield Central knocked off Tosa East 73-43 in the first meeting where they dominated the boards.

Sussex Hamilton (10-13) at D2 #7 Wauwatosa West (17-6)
Like the two Brookfield teams mentioned above, win and claim a share of the Greater Metro crown. The Trojans got back into this race with a win over Brookfield Central last Friday. Sussex is no slouch for the Trojans however, as they've got three straight wins, including over Germantown and Menomonee Falls. The first matchup was a shootout, resulting in a Tosa West 96-88 win.

D1 #10 Waunakee (18-5) at Milton (14-9)
Last Tuesday Fort Atkinson knocked off Waunakee to take sole possession of first place in the Badger-Large. The following Friday, this Milton team knocked off Fort to force a tie back atop the standings with Waunakee and the Blackhawks. Waunakee is looking to not allow Milton to play spoiler again, in search of a third straight league title.

Fort Atkinson (16-7) at Watertown (4-19)
It's been 23 years since Fort Atkinson has won a conference crown. After knocking off Waunakee last Tuesday, riding that high into an eventual loss to Milton on Friday, the Blackhawks are likely more focused than they've been all season. They'll need to knock off a Watertown team that they beat by 16 earlier in the season.

D1 #2 De Pere (22-1) at D2 #9 Notre Dame (18-5)
De Pere has already clinched a FRCC title outright, but can look to go undefeated in the conference with a win over ranked Notre Dame on Thursday. The Redbirds won the first matchup, a sold out affair at De Pere.

D5 #2 Potosi (20-3) at D5 #7 River Ridge (21-2)
This is one of the top matchups in the state as it pits two ranked teams, battling for a conference title. Potosi has already clinched a share of the crown, its third straight, but Chieftain win results in a second straight outright title. River Ridge will win a share of the title with a win, possibly resulting in a three-way share dependent on Highland's outcome. On January 21 Potosi won 58-53, where they dominated the glass and forced 18 Timberwolves turnovers.

Mellen (19-3) at Solon Springs (14-8)
Mellen has already clinched a share of the Northern Lights crown but can win the title outright with a win over Solon Springs on Thursday night. The Granite Diggers held Springs to just 34 points in the first matchup, a 26 point win.

Westosha Centeral (15-8) at D2 #5 Waterford (20-3)
Waterford has clinched a share of the Southern Lakes title, the first since 2010, thanks to Elkhorn's win over Westosha last Friday. Now the Wolverines are playing for an outright title while Westosha is playing to force a share. Westosha won the first matchup between these two 54-42 behind a stingy defensive performance in which the Falcons held Caden Gustafson and Jamison Beesley to a combined 11 points.

Kettle Moraine Lutheran (14-9) at Waupun (10-1)
With a win on Thursday night, Waupun will clinch its first East Central outright championship since 2019. They'll need to stave off a Kettle Moraine Lutheran team that is looking to claim a share of the title with a win. The first matchup went to Waupun in a four-point thriller in which the Warriors outscored the Chargers by eight in the second half. The Warriors made their way at the line, where they knocked down 29 of 42 three throw attempts, forcing many from KML into foul trouble.

Oconto (18-5) at Southern Door (20-3)
Senior Drew Daoust has climbed into the second spot on the state of Wisconsin's all-time leading scorers list in boys high school basketball. Thursday night he has the chance to do something only one player before him has accomplished, score 3,000 career points. Daoust currently sits at 2,977 in his career, just 23 shy of that historic milestone.
