Madison West junior Michael Wilson has been selected as the Box Out Sports Athlete of the Week for the week of February 17-23 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net. 

There were 2,076 total votes this week. Wilson topped all vote getters with 1,018 votes. Prairie du Chien's Greenlee Krahn finished in second with 683 votes.

Wilson etched his name into the Madison West records book last week as he led the Regents to a pair of Big Eight conference wins. The junior guard first had 24 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists in a 92-60 win over Janesville Parker. During that game, Wilson became the program's all-time leading scorer and 1,468 career points after this week of play. West then squared off with Madison Memorial and defeated the Spartans with a one-point 63-62 thrilling win, knocking them out of the conference title race. Wilson finished with a game high 26 points on 9 of 11 shooting, and added 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals.
