Campbell etched his name into Wisconsin high school wrestling history this past weekend, winning his fourth state championship in four years. The senior wrestler took home gold in the 126-pound weight class. He won the championship bout over Pecatonica/Argyle junior Lukas Orloff by a 9-2 decision to cap off his prep wrestling career and a 54-0 season record. As a sophomore and junior Campbell won the 120-pound championship while he won the 113-pound title as a freshman.
Heiser, like Campbell joined an elite club of high school wrestlers from the state to win four state championships during his time in school. He became the 31st to do so, winning the 157-pound weight class in Division 2. The Missouri commit won the championship bout over G-E-T senior Gunnar Johnson by a 19-2 tech fall. Heiser finished his season 52-0. As a junior he won the 150-pound title, while he won the 132-pound title as a sophomore and 120-pound title as a freshman.
Neubert and the Menasha girls basketball team recorded two upset wins en route to a regional championship this past weekend. Friday the 5-seed Bluejays traveled to 4-seed Ashwaubenon and came away with a 47-44 victory. The senior forward finished with 15 points and 13 rebounds in the win, adding three assists and steals. Neubert then had 27 points as she led Menasha to a 67-59 upset win over top-seed Beaver Dam on Saturday night. To put the cherry on top, Neubert surpassed 1,000 career points in the regional title game.
Radichel was excellent as she led Immanuel Lutheran to three straight wins and a regional title last week. The junior forward started her playoff run with 11 points, 14 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 blocks in the Lancers' 55-11 win over Bruce. Radichel then recorded a triple-double as Immanuel Lutheran knocked off New Auburn 55-39 in the regional semifinals. She finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 steals. Radichel added 7 assists coming just shy of a quadruple-double. She finshed her week with 25 points on 11 of 14 shooting in the 56-43 win over Webster in the regional finals. Radichel added 9 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 assists.
Whiting, just a junior, captured her third high school state championship in as many years this past weekend. She won the 114-pound weight class by pinning Neenah junior Kylee Kurszewski at the 1:13 mark. With her four winning bouts over the weekend, Whiting finished the season a perfect 17-0. It's her first title at 114 as she won both titles during her sophomore and freshman seasons at 107.
