Tomahawk sophomore Brayden Lamer has been selected as the Box Out Sports Athlete of the Week for the week of March 3-9 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net.

There were 2,759 total votes this week. Lamer topped all vote getters with 1,209 votes. Kimberly's Ana Van Vonderen finished in second with 904 votes.

Lamer did a great job of sharing the puck as Tomahawk captured gold for the first time in boys hockey history. The sophomore forward netted a goal and assisted on another as Tomahawk squeaked by McFarland 3-2 in the semifinals. The Hatchets then met Amery co-op in the Division 2 state title matchup and won 5-3. Lamer accounted for four of those goals, finishing with a goal of his own and three assists.
