Here's some general information and frequently asked questions about the WIAA Boys State Basketball Tournament. 

When is the tournament and when are the games? The 109th Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Boys Basketball State Tournament will take place Thursday-Saturday, March 20-22, at the Kohl Center on the campus of the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wis.

GATE SECURITY PROCEDURES:  Everyone entering the Kohl Center are now subject to pass through metal detectors. Fans and media are encouraged to arrive early to avoid missing the start of each session. 

Where is the state tournament held? 
All games of the Boys Basketball State Tournament are held at the Kohl Center in Madison.  Click here for a map of the Kohl Center area, and click here for a layout of the interior of the Kohl Center. It is important to note the Spectator Guidelines in the Kohl Center, as a number of items are prohibited. Click here for the Kohl Center Carry-In Policy.

How much are tickets and where can I get them? Ticket prices for the tourney are $13.50 per session for all seating purchased at the Kohl Center. Ticket windows are available one hour prior to the start of any session. Online tickets are print-at-home, available at the will-call window or through mobile delivery.

Keep in mind that if you buy tickets from one of the schools you will be sitting with that school's section.  If you purchase tickets online or at the Kohl Center you will be sitting in the general seating area, not with a particular school.

Where can I find coverage of the tournament? 
TV - The State Tournament will be televised live on on WKOW Madison, WAOW Wausau, WXOW La Crosse, WQOW Eau Claire, WCWF (CW14) in Green Bay/Fox Valley and WVTV in Milwaukee. The finals will also be streamed live on the State Television Network’s websites and on Fox11online.com. Also, download the WIAA Sports Live app for live streaming video, scores, highlights and more about the WIAA State Basketball Tournaments. Live coverage of the tournaments on iOS or Android phones and tablets are also available on the app.

WKOW will be streaming the games live on their website:  wkowtv.com 

In addition, post-game media conferences will be streamed live on WIAA.tv immediately following each game.

RADIO - Yes, there are many radio stations that will carry the games.  Check your local listings.

THREE-POINT CHALLENGE:  The 3-Point Challenge will be held prior to Saturday’s championship games. The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Kohl Center. A ticket for the Divisions 3, 4 and 5 championship games session is required for admittance. The top two players per division were selected for the contest based on the best 3-point field goal percentage with a minimum of 75 attempts during the regular season. The contestants representing Division 1 are Cade Felch of D.C. Everest and Karson Osterman of Pewaukee. Representing Division 2 are Elijah Fenner of Ashwaubenon and Tyler Roche of Greendale. The Division 3 participants are Jake Pfister of Catholic Memorial and Mikey Chapman of Menominee Nation. Division 4 will be represented by Will Franzen of Manitowoc Lutheran and Matthew Bonin of Roncalli; and the Division 5 contestants are Logan Nystrom of Assumption and Brayden Smith of Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah. Where can I eat? 
The Kohl Center has concessions, but many fans choose to venture out between games or sessions. There are numerous places to eat surrounding the Kohl Center, and State Street is not far away either. Please note that all concessions stands at the Kohl Center are completely cashless. They will accept credit cards, ApplePay, GooglePay, etc.

Where can I park?
​There are several parking ramps around the Kohl Center that will have special events parking available. If you don't mind walking there are some street parking spots available south of Regent Street. VisitMadison.com is a great resource as well. This site will give you information on parking downtown, the different restaurant options nearby and some things to do in your downtime.
