Bahr was the steady leader that made plays when needed as Aquinas captured gold in Division 4 over the weekend. The Blugolds met a Mineral Point team in the semifinals for the second straight season, this time getting revenge on the Pointers in another close matchup. Bahr finished with 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists in the 57-54 victory. He then had a great championship game against Bonduel in the Blugolds' 74-45 victory. Bahr got the offense going in both the first and second half during stretches and finished with a team high 20 points on 9 of 11 shooting. He added 9 assists and 5 rebounds as Aquinas captured gold in Division 4.
Brown dominated the paint area in both the semifinal and final rounds of the Division 3 portion of the state tournament this weekend. The Coastal Carolina recruit found his groove in the 65-61 semifinal win over Lake Mills, and made some huge plays down the stretch. Up two with under ten seconds left, Brown blocked a would-be game-tying L-Cats shot, corralled the loose ball, and buried both free throws giving Science the eventual four-point win. He finished with 19 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 blocks. In the championship game, Brown was tasked with guarding Freedom's Donovan Davis but also took on a big role on the offense. Despite not playing the last five minutes due to an ankle injury, Brown finished with 17 points, 19 rebounds, and 2 blocks for the Novas.
Greene made some of the biggest plays in both wins for the Vikings and is now a two-time state champion. The senior forward does a little bit of everything on the court, including being the vessel that the Wisco offense runs through. In the Vikings 58-57 win over Oshkosh North, Greene was quiet until he needed to step up down the stretch. With the game tied at the 7:32 mark, Greene scored six straight points, including burying a pair of free throws. to give Wisco a 56-54 lead with just over three minutes left. Greene finished with 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal. His late game heroics came to fruition once again in the championship matchup with Marshfield. With Wisco down 1 with under a minute left he got a steal which led to the eventual lead taking bucket. After a teammate's missed bonus free throw with 3 seconds left, Green then intercepted the Tigers full-court pass, got fouled and finished the Vikings scoring out in the 57-55 victory. The Concordia-Wisconsin recruit finished with 11 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Kloskey had an incredible second half of the season that culminated in a great performance for Wauwatosa West at the state tournament. The 6-5 junior forward has a determination around the rim when he wants to score that makes him hard to deter. In the 75-63 semifinal win over Wausau East, Kloskey took over in the second half when the Lumberjacks went to a Triangle & 2 on teammate Jake Hansen and Jalen Brown. He finished with 22 points, 11 rebounds, 5 steals, 4 assists, and a block. The Trojans then knocked off Racine Park 60-57 in overtime of one of the best games of the season. Kloskey battled foul trouble all night, but in the 33 minutes he played, he dominated. He finished with 29 points on 14 of 18 shooting and 7 rebounds. Kloskey was a big reason why Wauwatosa West took home its first gold ball in program history in the their first ever trip to state.
Lipinski showed out on the biggest stage in front of a statewide audience. The senior wing scored from everywhere on the court, put down a few crowd pleasing dunks, and buried shots from deep. In the Pirates 66-54 semifinal victory over Turtle Lake, Lipinski had a team high 24 points, while going 8 of 10 from the free throw line. He added 7 rebounds and 5 steals. He then had 17 points on 6 of 11 shooting in the Pirates 60-54 win over Sheboygan Lutheran in the WIAA Division 5 State Championship. Lipinski and co. won the first ever state title in boys basketball for CFC in their program's history.
