Isaiah Robinson of Racine Park has been selected as the top senior Defender as part of the WSN Senior Basketball Awards.

Coming off a WIAA Division 2 state runner-up finish, Robinson showed the state audience his defensive acumen on the biggest stage.

The 6-foot point guard showcased his non-stop, come-at-you defensive approach while setting records for the state tournament. Over the course of the two games, Robinson recorded a state record 15 steals, with many of those coming in crunch time situations. His lateral quickness, hand speed, and instincts earned him this award.

Robinson was near the top of leaderboards in the state in steals per game (4.7). Offensively, he averaged 14.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game for the Panthers.

He was named the Southeast conference Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the year and earned first team honors for the second consecutive season.

In 97 career games, Robinson tallied 1,328 points, 363 rebounds, 402 assists, and 419 steals.

Head coach Casey Robbins said this about Robinson:

"Isaiah is one of the best on ball defenders I’ve ever witnessed personally. His ability to get the ball handler to do exactly what he wants them to do then uses his quick hands to take the ball is unmatched. He showed it on full display at the Kohl Center. He gives it his all on defense the whole game no matter how tired his body is. He’s so important to our team because teams can’t run their offense comfortably because he’s hounding the other teams best ball handler. He prides himself on his defense so much that he’s fine with having no points. I’ve seen him have 13 steals in back-to-back games in one week. I don’t think there’s another player as deserving and who puts so much pride on taking the ball from other players."

Robinson is currently uncommitted for next season.

Finalists for the award were Robinson, Roan Demovsky of De Pere, Kaden MacKenzie of Waunakee, Keegan Van Kauwenberg of Kaukauna, and Logan Zahour of Cedarburg.

Past winners of the award include Sekou Konneh of Saint Thomas More (2024), Jeremy Lorenz of Brillion (2023), Luke Webb of Elmwood/Plum City (2022), Jayden Jackson of Whitefish Bay (2021), Keonte Jones of Madison East (2020), Lucas Stieber of Green Bay Southwest (2019), Jordan Dinsmore of Milwaukee Washington (2018), Chris Knight of Madison Memorial (2017), Kostas Antetokounmpo of Dominican (2016), Dwayne Lawhorn Jr. of Germantown (2015), Jordan Shea of Lodi (2014), Bronson Koenig of Aquinas (2013), and Zak Showalter of Germantown (2012).
