The 2024-25 high school boys basketball season was certainly one for the record books, as a number of players have etched their names in history.

WSN has kept the single-game, single-season, and career scoring records lists for a number of years, and those have all been updated following completion of the 2024-25 campaign.

Clink on the links below to see the full lists for each category. Below are highlights and updates based on new entries for this year.

CAREER SCORING RECORDS

Single-Game Scoring Leaders

There are two new entries this year on the single-game scoring list, which track those that have scored at least 60 points in a game.

Bayfield senior Quintin Bresette went off in the Trollers' 130-35 victory over Mercer in the regular season finale. It was part of a run of three consecutive games the team eclipsed 100 points, something they did four times overall. Bresette played all 36 minutes, making 24-of-42 shots from the field, including 11-of-25 from three-point range. He also went eight-for-nine from the free throw line, finishing with 67 points. He also had 14 assists and 13 rebounds in the game. The 67 points ties him for eighth on the state's single-game list.

Chris Davis, Jr. is a name you'll read many times in this article, and that includes a 61-point outburst for Sun Prairie East in the Cardinals' 98-79 win over Verona. Davis, Jr. made 20-of-33 shots overall, six-of-ten from three, and all 15 of his free throw attempts. He also had a 61-point game while playing for Sun Prairie West two years ago.

Season Scoring Records

With more games than ever and more game time than ever thanks to recent rules changes, it is no surprise that the single-season record book continues to see new entries every year.

We did see some history, as Oshkosh North's Xzavion Mitchell, the 2025 Mr. Basketball selection by the WBCA, became just the fourth player in state history to reach 1000 points in a single season (Anthony Pieper did it twice). The senior Iowa State commit averaged 34.7 points per game, finishing with 1,006 points in helping the Spartans to the Division 1 state tournament. His mark is fourth on the list.

Chris Davis, Jr. has two entries in the top ten, including 985 points in his senior season at Sun Prairie East when he averaged 35.2 points per game. He also scored 980 points for Sun Prairie West in the 2023-24 season.

Cumberland's Gavin Gores was a Mr. Basketball finalist and finished his senior year with 920 points, which places him in a tie for 15th on the state list with former Argyle sharp-shooter Travis Tuttle.

Amari Allen returned to the state of Wisconsin for his senior season and had a big year for Ashwaubenon, scoring 886 points while averaging 34.1 per game. His mark is 18th on the single-season list.

Drew Daoust of Southern Door has three of the top 30 scoring seasons in state history, including 871 points as a senior, good for 21st. He also scored 885 (19th) as a junior and 835 (28th) as a sophomore.

Career Scoring Records

Like the single-season scoring list, the state's career scoring list has been re-written in recent season with more games and additional minutes added in over the years. A total of 13 players added their name to the all-time scoring list, which includes all those with at least 1900 career points.

Leading the way are a trio of newcomers to the top five. Drew Daoust of Southern Door became just the second player in state history to reach 3000 career points this season, finishing with 3,096, which is second behind former Wausaukee standout Anthony Pieper.

Xzavion Mitchell of Oshkosh North is into third place this season with 2,824 points, capped off by a Mr. Basketball selection as a senior.

Chris Davis, Jr. is one of the top pure scorers the state has ever seen, and his 2,688 career points is now fifth all-time. He played at Madison East as a freshman then spent two seasons at Sun Prairie West before transferring to Sun Prairie East for his senior campaign.

Three other players moved inside the top 20 in career scoring this year: Amery's Carter Wollan (2,433 points, 13th), Almond-Bancroft's Ayden Phillips (2,432 points, 14th), and Cumberland's Gavin Gores (2,360 points, T17th).

Other players from the talented Class of 2025 to join the career scoring list are:

Aaron Womack, Dominican, 2240 points, 32nd
Matthew Buckman, Cambridge, 2187, 35th
A.J. Bender, Lake Mills, 2114, 49th
Devin Isaj, Greendale, 2063, 56th
Jesse DeBauch, Gillett, 1953, 81st (tie)
Jared Schultz, Northwood, 1929, 84th(tie)
Jamarion Batemon, Milwaukee Academy of Science, 1914, 88th
