2024 Season Recap

Seymour (17-9 Overall) took the Bay Conference crown a season ago. New London (20-4) and Menasha (16-10) tied for 2nd. Shawano (12-13) and West De Pere (9-13) tied for 3rd. Xavier (7-13) and Green Bay West/East (0-22) finished out the standings. Both New London and Seymour would reach Sectional play with New London falling to eventual D2 Runner up Mosinee and Seymour falling to Freedom.

Team Previews

Seymour was the Bay Conference Champion a season ago. The Thunder will once again be in contention for the Bay Conference Crown this season. Addy Wery Sr C (2X Bay Conference Player of the year, 3X 1st Team All Conference, 3X All District, Wisconsin Commit), Aubrey Hartleben Sr IF (2 year Varsity Starter - 1st team All Bay Conference - Team offensive player of the year), Gillian Herrala Sr P (3 year Varsity Starter - 2nd team and 1st team all bay conference - Team Most Improved Player) are players notable returning players to watch this year. 13th year Head Coach Karri Vandenlangenberg Who has accumulated a 134-101 Record at the helm along with 4 Conference Championships and a Division 2 State Championship in 2019 says Pitching and Hitting will be their strong suit this season.

Menasha returns several Key Positions from last season and will have a new Head Coach with Dave Schuey taking over. The Blue Jays return Isabella Timm Sr, Alyssa Rusch, Hannah Neubert Sr 1B, Daviani Felix Jr C, Sammy Schuey Sr OF/P, Gabby Farr Sr P/OF, and Teagan Massey-Planmann Jr P. Menasha has notable NC Games with Stevens Point, Kaukauna, Hartford, West Bend West and Will play in the Cedarburg Tournament.

Notable Losses: Taylor Papendorf, Addie Lund, Karly Helf, Kelsie Mohr.
Newcomers: Bella Sonnenberg, Kadi Birling, Alyvia Trader, Trinity Nelson,Meghan Reh, Natalie Krueger.

West De Pere looks to make a push for the top in its final season in the Bay Conference. Leading the list of returnees for the Phantoms and 5th Year Head Coach Jennifer Nelson are 2024 All-Bay Conference selections Lily Bukoske, Mallory DeMoulin, Brooke Shoemaker and Jocelyn Vieth. Bukoske, a senior pitcher/outfielder, was named to the First Team after compiling a 7-7 record pitching and posting a .355 average with a team-best eight doubles and 21 runs batted in at the plate. DeMoulin, a sophomore outfielder, was chosen to the Second Team after hitting a team-best .413 with four doubles and eight eight runs batted in. Shoemaker, a junior pitcher/outfielder, and Vieth, a sophomore infielder, were both Honorable Mention selections. Shoemaker tallied a 2-5 record and a pair of shutouts pitching while hitting .338 with one home run and nine runs batted in. Vieth hit .327 with 15 runs scored and four runs batted in.Nelson says the Bay Conference will be a close race this season and will have a Battle of the Bridge Event with Crosstown Rival De Pere this season.

New London has been one of the biggest names not only in the Bay Conference but in Division 2 over the last decade and a half. The Bulldogs graduated a talented 2024 Class that helped lead them to State Appearances in 2022 and 2023, 3 Bay Conference Championships and 3 Regional Crowns over that span will be tough to replace. The Bulldogs return a mix of Veterans (Eve Hedtke Sr C 25 Hits 4 Home Runs, 18 Walks, Kiley Peterson Sr IF, Olivia Hamel Sr OF & Erin O’Donoghue Sr OF) and Youth (Bristol Elsholtz So SS & Ellie Winkelman So P/2B 24 RBI, 40 Hits, .500 avg, Leading hitter in Conference) players with Varsity & Travel Ball experience. New London will travel to Winneconne and face the host along with Freedom and Appleton North and host defending D2 State Champion Waupun and D3 Runner Up Laconia and Perennial Power Luxemburg-Casco in a home Invite in May.

Shawano graduates six seniors from last season. The Hawks also have a new Head Coach this season with Nate Boucher taking over. The Hawks do return some core position players in Kadence Meyers Jr P (2nd Team All-Conference), Ella Stuber Sr SS/2B (2nd Team All-Conference), and Abby Wachtel Sr 1B (Honorable Mention All Conference). Shawano Took part in the Danny Mac Softball Classic in Rhinelander to start the Season and also played in the Inaugural games at the Greenheck Turner Fieldhouse against Mosinee.

Xavier has a new Head Coach for the 2025 Season as Tom Hervey Takes over the program. Hervey has coached Middle School Softball at Xavier and has coaching experience in Travel Softball said they are a Connected Tight Group but look to add depth in certain positions. Highlighting The Hawks Roster is Addison Hervey Sr P/IF and a 3x All Conference Selection. Kalia Stammer So C/3B and Elsa Dvoracek Jr SS also highlight the roster.

Green Bay West/East is in its 5th Season as a Co-Op Program known as the Wild Devils. Senior Players Include Maddie LaTour, Hallie Gonion, Madelyn Nys, and Carina Putala. The Wild Devils feature a mix of 9 Freshman and Sophomores that will look to build up its Program. Andy Kasten is in his 3rd Year as the program's Head Coach.
