Brenkman is a senior forward with the Sugar River girls soccer team, a co-op of Belleville and New Glarus. This past week she was unstoppable on the pitch leading the Raiders to four wins. In a 5-3 win over River Valley, she netted four goals. Thursday in a 7-1 win over Lakeside Lutheran, Brenkman had three goals and two assists. Saturday the team competed in their home Raider Invite. Brenkman had three goals and two assists in a 6-1 win over Platteville/Lancaster and recorded another hat trick in a 3-2 win over Monona Grove.
Lee was electric on the field for the Brookfield co-op girls lacrosse team this past week. The junior attacker netted six goals despite a 14-13 loss to Kettle Moraine on Monday. She duplicated that performance, knocking through six more goals in a 20-14 win over Notre Dame on Saturday. Lee is fifth in the state with 17 points scored this season and second in the state with 16 goals.
Miller took home individual medalist honors in both events he competed in last week. Wednesday and Thursday, the senior golfer competed in the Quad Cities Classic. The opening round was played at the Fyre Lake National Golf Course in Sherrad, Illinois where Miller shot a 69, five strokes off the leader. Thursday he shot a 64 at the TPC Deer Run in Silvis, Illinois to finish with a total score of 134, finishing eight strokes ahead of second. Saturday Miller took home top honors at the Washington County Invitational held at the Hartford and Washington County Golf Course. His 141 total score was two strokes better than the second place finisher.
Millin was all around the net as he and the Waunakee boys lacrosse team went 3-1 last week. Monday in a 15-1 win over Sun Prairie United, the junior midfielder netted a solo goal but assisted on four others. Millin then recorded four goals and two assists in a 14-4 victory over Sauk Prairie. He finished his week with two goals and an assist in a 10-7 win over the Madison co-op and a goal and two assists in the 9-7 loss to Kettle Moraine. Millin is fourth in the state with 24 points through the first few weeks of the season.
Wald led the Drummond softball team to a pair of victories this past week from both the mound and the plate. Thursday, the senior pitcher took the mound and tossed five innings in a 12-0 run-shortened game. She struck out 15 batters, walked four, and completed a no-hitter on the mound. At the plate she went two of four with three RBIs and a run scored. In a 15-9 win over Webster/Siren, Wald struck out ten batters over seven innings of work, surrendering nine runs (four earned), on just three hits. She went two of five at the plate with three RBIs, three runs scored, and a walk.
