2024 Season Recap
Athens (16-7 Overall) took the Marawood North undefeated in 2024, Rib Lake (12-11-1) followed in 2nd. Phillips (5-8), Chequamegon (15-9) and Prentice (1-17) finished out the standings. Athens would advance to the Sectional Semi Final where it fell to eventual State Qualifier Thorp.

Team Previews
Rib Lake is viewed as the favorite in the Marawood North this season. The Redmen return a majority of its well rounded roster from 2024 including three pitchers (Tessa Weik Jr, Kianna Dallman Sr and Talhia Schliethauer Jr) who all had 20+ Innings behind graduated pitcher Josie Schleithauer. Avery Niemi Jr C/IF is the teams leading returning hitter batting .476 with 40 hits and 27 RBI. Tessa Weik, Addison Gumz Sr, and Kianna Dallman also had very good numbers on the offensive side of the game last season which will transpire into this season's success. Rib Lake has notable games against Marawood South Contenders Stratford and Auburndale.

Chequamegon only graduated one senior from last season and will look to compete for the Marawood North title in a tight race with only four teams this season. Key returnees for the Screaming Eagles are Anya Brenholt Sr UT/P (13-5 115 IP, 5.23 ERA, Honorable Mention AC), Regan Hoffman Sr C (31 Hits, 37 RBI, .443 Avg 3 Home Runs,1st Team Unanimous AC), Angie BeBeau Jr SS (37 Hits, 35 RBI, 24 Stolen Bases, .500 Avg, 2nd Team AC), Jalen Brunell So 3B/P (28 Hits 24 RBI 16 Stolen Bases,1st Team AC) and Adison Bablick Jr CF (Honorable Mention AC). Paige Herbst, who has been the Head Coach for seven seasons with a conference title and Coach of the Year award in 2019, says, “We return our entire starting line up except our first baseman that graduated last year. With some injuries we will move some people around so that may come across as a weakness, but we are starting pretty sound this year.”

Athens graduated six starters from its 2024 team including Marawood North Player of the Year Sophia Coker. The Blue Jays do return two pitchers in Danica Diethelm Sr (First Team All-Conference) and Karly Eckert So (Honorable Mention) and will add two freshman pitchers to the rotation for Head Coach Matt Ellenbecker. Ellenbecker who has also coached Softball at Merrill said, “We're young and have low numbers, but we do have a team that works hard and wants to get better. We have a pretty proud history here in Athens, so the plan is to improve throughout the year and be a handful for anyone we play in May or June.”

Phillips only got to play 12 regular season games in 2024. The Loggers also graduated six seniors from last season and will return just two Seniors in Mataya Eckert CF (17 Hits 16 Runs Scored 10 RBI .386 avg) and Lilly Miller C/OF/IF (14 RBI, 10 Walks). Phillips has 10 Freshman listed on its varsity roster this season.
