2024 Season Recap

Pepin/Alma (18-6 Overall) claimed the Dairyland-Small last season. Cochrane-Fountain City (17-6) took second. Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran (13-6), Independence/Gilmanton (4-12) and Alma Center Lincoln (1-18) finished things out. Pepin/Alma would reach the Sectionals where they fell to Assumption in the Semi Finals.

Note: Blair-Taylor Moves from the Dairyland-Large to Small This season, Independence/Gilmanton moves to the Dairyland-Large and the Dairyland-Small plays one crossover game against each Dairyland-Large School to count in the Standings.

Team Previews

Blair-Taylor will make the transition from the Dairyland-Large to Dairyland-Small this season. The WIldcats are in a good position to be at the top of the conference returning Madalynn Fredericton Sr P/2B (All-District & 1st Team All-Conference), Andi Beck Jr C (All-District & 1st Team All-Conference). Andrea Waldera Jr 1B/SS and Elissa Smetana Jr 3B also return but will be moving to different positions, says 27th year Head Coach Grag Bratina. Bratina, who holds a 406-182 Record as the Wildcats Head Coach which also includes Four State Tournament appearances, 10 Regional Titles, and 8 Conference Championships, also mentioned, “We have some good freshman that are going to contribute and help give pitching depth. I feel a strong conference and non-conference schedule will help us when the post-season comes.” The non-conference games include defending state champions Fall Creek and Prescott along with state qualifier Thorp.

Newcomers: Andrea Aleckson (P/OF), Avery Peterson (SS/C), Emma Wathke (OF), Kayli Benedict (P/IF)

Cochrane-Fountain City graduated three starters from 2024 but have a good mix of players back to contend for the Dairyland-Small title. Steve Lyga enters his 19th Year as Head Coach which includes two State Tournament trips. All Conference returnees include MacKenzie Wenger Jr 3B, Mackenna Aspenson So C. Other key returnees include Aubrey Smith Sr 2B, Arianna Suhr Sr 1B, Sienna Schmitt So OF and Emmalie Lacey So SS/OF.

Pepin/Alma returns most key positions from last season but will have to work with being on the younger side. Notably returning for the Eagles is Allidah Luff Sr P (16-5 119 ⅔ IP, 2.11 ERA, 134 Strikeouts,1st team all conference). Kennedy Carlson Jr C (25 Hits, 24 Runs Scored, 24 RBI) Lauren Carlson Jr 2B , Lindsey Newcomb Sr 1B, Megan Sterry Jr 3B and Leah Green Sr SS.

Notable Losses: Lundyn Carlson CF, Cora Komisar 2B, Ashley Bartlet RF, Bella Post LF, Wallice Helmin.

Newcomers: Jilly Schmitt Fr CF, Hailey Marcks Jr LF, Bella Bellerive Fr RF.

Notable Losses: Addyson Lacey CF, Bella Holzer P, Emma Mann SS.

Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran had five seniors on its roster a season ago. Cheyenne Wales Sr C/SS, (2X All Conference Pick and UW Eau Claire Commit) highlights the Lancers this season. Head Coach Rhonda White says she has freshmen (Lydia Kloke, Abby Pfeiffer, Regan Oman and Zoey Ohlmann) coming up that she is excited about.

Alma Center Lincoln graduated three seniors in 2024. The Hornets have six returning players (Amara Streff Sr, Jayden Krszjzaniek Sr, Isabella Emerich Sr, Annika Ceronohous So, Marlee Winchell So and Amelia Turk So) from 2024 and will be joined by eight newcomers in 2025.

Newcomers: Kyra Bue, Ava Hoffman, Isla Gjerseth, Prudence DeHaven, Chevelle Thompson, Jadia Clarke, Kathleen La Bar and Raeann Ruzic.
