Wauzeka-Stueben (18-3 overall) claimed the Ridge & Valley a season ago as Ithaca (17-3) followed in 2nd. Kickapoo (7-7), Seneca (10-12), De Soto (4-15), La Farge (3-15) and North Crawford (2-14) finished things out. Ithaca would reach the Sectional Semi Final game against Hillsboro. Weston did not field a team in 2024.

Team Previews
Wauzeka-Stueben is the defending Ridge & Valley Champion and will look to defend that title again this season “We have a lot of varsity and travel ball experience for some with a number of girls participating in softball. Coachability, work ethic, and positive attitudes should be strengths this season,” says 5th year Head Coach Dustin Smith. Returning for the Hornets are Emma Wall Sr C (2nd Team All District (2023), 1st Team All District (2024), and 1st Team All Ridge and Valley Conference (2023 & 2024), NIACC Commit), Kiley Manning Sr OF (2x All-Conference Player), Sophia Walz Sr 1B, Brianna Ray Jr P/3B (2024 1st Team All-Conference Selection), Isabella Bunders Jr SS (2024 2nd Team All-Conference Selection). The Hornets will have some notable non-conference games with Six Rivers Favorite Belmont, and Scenic Bluffs Teams Brookwood and Cashton along with SWAL contender Fennimore.

Ithaca will be in the mix for the Ridge & Valley title in 2025. The Bulldogs are co-head coached by Brad Louis and Paula Boland and see pitching as their biggest strength. Highlighting the returnees for Ithaca are Arianna Louis Sr SS/P (2X all conference honorable mention, 1st team all conference & all district honorable mention-2024), Holly King Sr C/OF (2nd team all conference-2024), Alyssa Mueller Sr 1B (2nd team all conference 2024) and Jacey Maxwell So P/SS 2nd (all conference-2024). Ithaca will look to go deep in the playoffs again and could meet Hillsboro again in the Sectional Semi Finals.

Kickapoo returns six starters from a season ago providing a strong foundation of experience and cohesion. “Despite being low on team numbers, the collective skills and synergy of our returning players position us as a formidable competitor," said third-year coach Laurie Cauffman. "The commitment and dedication of our athletes during the offseason have also been commendable, indicating a strong work ethic that will contribute positively to our overall performance. Historically, pitching has presented challenges for our team. However, our pitchers have been proactive in addressing this issue through focused offseason training to enhance their skills and performance Overall, while we acknowledge areas for growth, we remain optimistic about our potential this season, leveraging our strengths to overcome our weaknesses."

Seneca only graduated two seniors in 2024 and brings back its entire roster from last season. Brigid Hall Jr P, Addison Davidson So 2B/SS, Ava Sime Sr OF, Raya Wallin Jr C, and Brittany Heisz So 2B/SS/LF are the notable returnees for the Royals.
Notable Losses: Kylie Stulka CF, McKenzie Sime 2B
Newcomers: Lily Payne Fr P/2B/SS, Grace Varo Fr C/SS.
De Soto graduated six seniors in 2024. Notable returnees for the Pirates include Kylee Venner So SS, Sylvia Krueger So 3B, Sacha Doll Sr UT, Ella Koch Jr P. Second year Head Coach Connie Klein mentioned that they can hit well, have great team spirit and high energy. Klein also mentioned that freshman Brynn Venner, a left-handed pitcher, is one to watch. Other potential players include Taylor DuCharm So, Annalise Knutson Jr, Ava Kozelka So, Rainey Joseph Jr, Kyrie Krager Sr, Josie Hanson So, and Shawna Haakenson Sr.
North Crawford has a change in coaching this season with Shannon Mellum coming in as the Head Coach. The Trojans graduated four seniors in 2024 and are projected to bring back seven players from last season.
La Farge has a young group of players but also lacks numbers. Returnees Kaydence Lawrence 3B, Brielle Hanson UT and newcomer Addee Hanson P look to pave the way for the Wildcats under 2nd year Head Coach Lucas Nordin.
Weston will field a varsity team for the first time in a number of years. Larry Villiard is the Head Coach for the Silver Eagles and has 38 years experience Coaching Baseball at Weston. Bruce and mentioned that, “We have a Great group of girls who work hard and are eager to learn. Infield will be a strength. We have a lot to learn and work on but we are having fun!”
