2024 Season Recap

Brodhead (19-5 overall) took the Rock Division of the Rock Valley last season. Big Foot (12-7) followed in 2nd. Turner (11-8), Clinton (8-12), Edgerton (5-15), and Evansville (5-15) rounded things out. Brodhead would advance to the WIAA State Tournament falling to eventual Champion Prescott in the State semifinals.

Team Previews

Brodhead will look to have strong pitching behind Ava Risum Sr (Lindenwood University (D1) commit; 2X First team all State; All Conference Pitcher of the Year 2024; 3X First team all conference) The Cardinals also look to play strong defense for first year Head Coach Chad Risum. Risum says though overall they will be a younger team this season. Brodhead will compete in Division 2 this season due to Tournament Performance Factor Points and is placed with many Rock Valley Teams in its regional grouping.

Newcomers: Mady Henning P/SS

Big Foot is a team that could challenge Brodhead for the top of the Rock Division in 2025. The Chiefs return its entire roster and had no seniors last season. Notably returning are Lily Wolf Sr C/SS (44 hits 39 runs scored 22 stolen bases .557 avg), Kate Hummel Jr 3B/SS (31 hits 25 runs scored 32 RBI .449 avg) and Holly Kynell Sr P/IF (10-7 120 IP 2.92 ERA, 30 Hits 15 runs Scored 13 Walks 30 RBI .462 avg). Big Foot will look to contend with Marshall, Poynette and Lodi in its half sectional come tournament time.

Other Returnees: Natalie Klamm Sr OF, Claire Patek Jr C/2B, Mylee Walter JR 3B/OF, Leah Paulsen So 1B/OF, Kelsie Kroening Sr IF, Karlee Kroening Sr C/OF/DP, Brylee Parrott So OF.

Turner brings back a relatively young squad this season with only two seniors but returns six starters that were on the 2023 team that appeared at the State Tournament. Maddy Hoenig Jr C, a 1st Team All Conference / All district / All State in 2024 highlights the Trojans this year. The Trojans have non-conference games against four state qualifiers from 2024 in conference rival Brodhead, Milton, Lake Mills and Waupun.

Newcomers: Jayla Jackson Fr (SS) & Olyvia Piranio (P), Khloe Lentell.

Clinton has a solid group of players consisting of returnees and newcomers for 5th year Head Coach Ross Reincke. Reincke credits building up a youth program in the community has made great strides for the Cougars in the last four seasons. Returning Rock Valley Rock Conference Player of the Year Ashley Theisen Sr P (7-8 101 ⅓ IP, 1.24 ERA 208 Strikeouts, 27 Hits 15 RBI, .562 avg, Winona State University commit) holds multiple school records in both pitching and hitting and has surpassed 500 strikeouts in her career last year. London Winch Jr 3B/C (Honorable Mention All Conference) and Vada Matts Sr UT (Honorable Mention All Conference, Florida National University commit) highlight the returning core for Clinton. Clinton will look to build up team chemistry with a large group of under and upperclassmen. “I am very excited about the mix of players this year," said Reincke. "It will be fun to see the growth of the program and also to see how this season plays out."

Newcomers: Andie Bell Fr P, Keylee Vander Pal Fr 1B, Macy Hinz Fr UT, Gabbi Winch Fr CF, Gabby Murphy Fr C and Maycee Morris Fr SS

Edgerton has five returning starters in Sydney Sund Sr IF, Caitlyn Phillips Sr OF and Grace Osborne Sr C and Juniors Marti Rebman IF and Brenna Callmer P for Head Coach Tony DeWar. DeWar holds a 223-172 Record in 20 years at the helm. DeWar said the Crimson Tide have a talented group of freshmen to look forward to.

Newcomers: Reese Zellmer Fr CF

Evansville graduated just one senior in 2024 (Mackenzie Costroun), The Blue Devils notable returnees are Paige Harnack Sr 1B and Haley Ross Sr P. Several other returnees and newcomers will join them this season.
