2024 Season Recap
Cedarburg (24-5 overall) and West Bend West (23-5) shared the North Shore title a season ago, followed by Slinger (17-11), Hartford (13-11), Homestead (9-15), Port Washington (8-16), West Bend East (12-14), Whitefish Bay (10-17), Grafton (9-16) and Nicolet (1-21). Cedarburg made it the furthest in the postseason falling to eventual state champion Kenosha Bradford in the state quarterfinals.

Team Previews
Cedarburg will look to stay atop the North Shore this season. The Bulldogs will have a core group of experienced returning players. Pitching, outfield defense, and team power are strengths going into the season but will have a new look in the infield with limited experience in key positions, say co-head coaches Mark Jessup and Jeff Langkamp, who are entering their eighth season together. Ashley LeCavalier Sr - (30 Hits, 21 RBI), All Conference OF - UWSP Commit; Ally Torbeck Sr - All Conference OF - Indiana Tech Commit; Emily Johnson Jr P/1B, (38 Hits, 39 RBI .437 avg) are the top players returning for Cedarburg. They traveled to D.C. Everest to play in the new Greenheck Turner Fieldhouse to open the season against the host and De Pere as well as host the Bulldog Classic with seven other teams in May.
Notable Losses: Cassidy Gall Pitcher - 4 year starter, Conference Player of the Year and All-State; Sarah Prom 3B - 4 year starter, 4 year all conference and 2 time all district, Megan Lacke SS - 4 year starter, 4 year all conference.

Hartford returns seven starters from 2024. The Orioles are looking to the returning group of Lauren Voss Sr SS (All-State Selection, Committed to Evansville), Cassidy Klebsch Sr C - (HM all conference) Aubrey Krogman Sr OF (Committed to UW-Platteville), Sophie Meyer Sr OF (3 year varsity starter, Committed to UW-LaCrosse) Savanna Voss Sr OF (Committed to Evansville) Josie Wiman So P, Cambrie Hoeppner Jr 2B, and Jenna Martin So OF. Co-head coaches are Dave Hoxworth (96-47 Record is in his eighth season with Hartford) and Emily Martin (in her second after previously coaching at Arrowhead for 23 Years), who mentioned they will benefit from returning seven seniors and have a lot of offensive run production and will work to build up confidence.

West Bend West graduated its battery duo of Lindsay Sandleback P (1st Team All Conference) and Mia Buske C (1st Team All Conference) along with three other seniors in 2024. The Spartans have a good returning team this season as it looks to compete for its last North Shore Crown before moving to the new Glacier Trails Conference in 2026. All-Conference returnees are Maiya Tearney Sr P/3B (11-1 67 â…” IP 1.45 ERA), Paige Guse Sr C/SS (40 Hits 37 Runs Scored 19 Walks 36 RBI .476 avg), Mackenzie Rolf Sr OF (33 Hits 5 Home Runs 37 RBI), and Riley Weber Jr UT. Breleigh Ustruck Sr IF is also a notable returnee with good numbers at the plate last season (37 Hits, 23 RBI, .493 avg)

Newcomers: Norah Johnson Fr P/IF/OF, Emerson Stauske Fr IF, Stella Ovalle Fr P/IF/OF, Nora Renk Fr IF/OF, Stella Gardner So,
West Bend East will look to build off its best record since 2018 this season, with some key contributors back and some players looking to step up. Audrey Tews Sr P/2B (2x all conference player) and Kendall Nettesheim Jr 3B (Honorable Mention All Conference, team leading 23 hits) highlight the returnees. Mark DeChant, who has four years in as the Suns leader, says that offense and pitching are team strengths but will need to work on overall defense. He also believes the North Shore is wide open for any team to challenge for a top spot along with its playoff grouping to go to anyone playing their best ball at the right time.

Grafton returns nearly its entire roster from last year with only one loss to graduation. The Blackhawks also benefited from playing larger schools in the regular season and claimed a regional championship eventually falling to sectional finalist Pius XI. Mike Bergmann, who has six years as the Blackhawks head coach, says he is looking forward to a new season and a chance to show continued improvement with the depth and returning experience this season. Grafton does move back to the north Sectional this year which includes defending state champion Waupun.

Port Washington returns its entire team from 2024. The most notable returnee is Hope Gilhooly Sr C a First Team All-Conference pick that collected 41 hits, scored 17 runs and hit six home runs and hit for .536. Sierra Miller Sr P/OF was the other All-Conference selection for the Pirates in 2024. Five seniors, two juniors, five sophomores, and one freshman make up this year's roster.
Slinger will feel the loss of eight seniors from last season including All-Conference pick Cece Kirsch. The Owls return All-Conference picks Adeline Bretz Sr P and Brooke Tennies Sr C. Also returning for Slinger is KJ Burkel So SS, Kiera Lanting Sr 2B, Alayna Riley Sr 3B, Niki Johnson So CF, and Chloe Wolf Jr 1B.
Homestead graduated All-Conference selection Sophia Otto and four other seniors in 2024. The Highlanders bring back Emmy Sehnert Sr, Gianna Hull Sr, Lauren Strifling Sr, Anna Faucet So, and Lizzy Willis Jr. Newcomers Jersey Schmidt So, Brooklyn Wirth So, Ava Selle So, Claire Gilbertson So, Stella Leaman Fr, Lola Leaman So, and Lauren Faucet So will join them.
Whitefish Bay has a nice blend of veteran and young players to look forward to this season but overall face a young squad for third year head coach David Berghaus. “We have five freshman and one sophomore on varsity this season," said Berghaus. "We do have two pitchers to work a lot of the innings.” Returning for the Blue Dukes is Jane Wallace Sr 1B/OF (31 Hits, 27 Runs Scored, 22 Walks 5 Home Runs, 21 RBI, .443 avg, 2nd Team All Conference, UW-Eau Claire Commit), Abby Fay Jr P/SS (6-6 72 IP 81 Strikeouts, 3.40 ERA), Kyla Sullivan Jr P/1B (20 Hits, 16 Walks), and Kate Harrison Jr C (34 Hits, 14 RBI .453 avg).

Newcomers: Ansley Elias CF, Aria Edwards LF and Haily Freda SS/3B.
Nicolet has a change in the Head CoachingpPositions with Terrence Smith taking the lead role. Smith also coaches boys basketball at Nicolet. The Knights graduated only one senior in 2024. Victoria Jewel Sr C was a First Team All Conference selection in 2024. Smith mentioned they are a young team and looking to get better every day.
