2024 Season Recap
Mount Horeb (20-4 overall) claimed the Badger-Small title a season ago, Reedsburg (13-12) followed in second. Baraboo (11-12) and Edgewood (9-8) tied for third. Stoughton (10-15) and Portage (16-9) tied for fourth. Sauk Prairie (4-19) and McFarland (0-18) finished things out. Mount Horeb would advance to the Sectional Final where they would fall to Lake Mills.

Team Previews
Mount Horeb will look to be the favorite in the Badger-Small this season. The Vikings do lose three all-conference selections to graduation but return six all-conference selections in Jayse Holman Sr P, Ruby Dahlk Sr SS, Hallie Klein Sr CF, Jozie Clifton So LF, Delaney Nicewander Jr 1B, and Ellie Larson Sr RF. Mount Horeb will look to make another deep run in the playoffs and they are grouped with many familiar opponents from the years past in addition to Brodhead this season.
Portage returns five varsity players Including fourth year catcher Sophia Brom (HM All Conference), Jackie Seiler IF (1st team all-conference, HM all-district, 2nd team all-area), Ally Saloun P/U, (2nd team all-conference) and Trinity Williams P/U (HM all-conference). The Warriors and 10th year Head Coach Connie Wampler also have three pitchers on its roster and will look to use that to its advantage this season.

Reedsburg looks to build on last year's second place finish in the Badger-Small. The Beavers did graduate ace pitcher Summer Haag but return Kylee Molitor Sr SS (55 Hits, 34 RBI, 7 Home Runs, 49 Runs Scored 27 Stolen Bases, .663 Avg, 2024 Conference POY, 1st Team All State, Wisconsin Commit) and Gretchen Rockweiler Sr CF/P (26 Hits, 22 Runs Scored, 28 RBI, All conference selection). Third year head coach Elizabeth Baker mentioned that defense will be a strength as well as speed on the bases for Reedsburg this season.
Notable Losses: Summer Haag P, Grace Gawronski, Sr (out for the season with injury, Committed to UW-Platteville)

Newcomers: Gracie Roloff So C/3B, Cheyenne Raupp Jr P, Elizabeth Haag Jr 1B.
Baraboo looks to use its speed as strengths this year but will have to work on pitching. Second year Head Coach Bethany Fountain says they have a great group of kids ready to compete and she is extremely blessed to be their coach. Baraboo headed to Arizona the first week of the season for a scrimmage and two games as well as playing in the first softball event in the D.C. Everest Indoor Facility.

Stoughton has a young group with only two seniors and no juniors, Head Coach Cassie Bonde believes the team can compete for a spot in the upper half of the standings this season. A large group of sophomores highlight the returnees for the Vikings, Including both pitchers who shared most the innings last year (Camille Buell 2nd team all conference and Madelyn Barsness Honorable Mention all conference) along with Emily Matheny at CF (honorable mention all-conference)
Other Returnees: All Sophomores, Cara Link, C. Madysen Verville, Inf/C. Kira Schmid, Utility. Millie Vinson, OF. Chloe Buell, Utility. Savannah Fosdal, Utility.
Notable Losses: Reese Koepke. (four-year starter, three-time all conference, two-time all state. Hit .605 last year with 50 hits on the year)
Edgewood graduated First Team All-Conference pick Lexi Koch. The Crusaders return Grace Healy Jr IF/OF, Keri Morland Sr P/IF/OF, Grace Baer Sr IF/C and Abby Hamm Sr OF that were named all-conference a season ago.
McFarland will have a fresh look this season with the graduation of five, and has three all-conference returnees this season with Avery Feek Sr P/IF, Ella Schuchardt Jr P/IF and Riley Bercier Sr IF.
Sauk Prairie had three All-Conference players from 2024, returning with that honor are Lexi Ceigielski Sr 3B and Thea Harpold Sr CF.
