2024 Season Recap
Ellsworth (19-6 overall) claimed the Middle Border a season ago, Prescott (21-8) and Somerset (14-8) tied for 2nd. Baldwin-Woodville (12-11-1) and Saint Croix Central (12-9) tied for third. Altoona (13-11), Amery (4-16), and Osceola (2-16) rounded out MBC play. Prescott would end the season as the Division 3 State Champion. Ellsworth was also a Sectional Qualifier in Division 2.

Team Previews
Ellsworth gets the nod for the top of the Middle Border in 2025. The Panthers return a majority of its roster, notably being Aliza Acker Sr P, Aliyah Huppert Sr 1B, and Delaney Johnson Sr C as they took home All-Conference honors in 2024. Ellsworth will look at a possible deep playoff run and look to return to Goodman Diamond for the first time since 2019. Baldwin-Woodville, Hayward, and Rice Lake are in their half sectional while Mosinee is in the other half.

Prescott returns 15 of their 17 rostered players from last year's state champion squad. “We have a lot of experience led by a very talented senior class," said fifth year head coach Nick Johnson, who also coaches the boys basketball team at Prescott and has state tournament experience with that program as well. "We should be a strong defensive and hitting team, we will need some young players to really step up in the circle though.” Some of the Cardinals' top returnees include Leah French Sr C (3x All Conference, 2x All Region, HM All-State 23', 1st Team All-State 24', Concordia St. Paul Commit, 23 RBI 31 hits .378 avg), Rory Zuehlsdorf Sr 1B (2x All Conference, 2x All Region, 36 Hits, 22 RBI .404 avg), Kelsey Sterud Sr CF (2x All Conference, All Region 24' 29 Hits, 13 walks).

Somerset graduated First Team All-Conference pitcher Haley Settem along with Honorable Mention picks Kendra Prichett, Victoria Gomez and Riley Donahue. The Spartans have returning All-Conference selections Lauren Hauger C Sr, Tori Eichten Sr 1B, Lucy Nichols Sr SS and Sophie Johnson Jr CF back. Somerset will have some newcomers to the table that will look to make an impact this season.
Baldwin-Woodville graduated three players and returns 11 players from last season. Hailey Mauer Sr (2nd team all-conference), Jane Volgren So (1st team all-conference), Linnea Freer Jr (HM all-conference) highlight the Blackhawks returnees. Charlie Tobin, who enters her third season as the Blackhawks head coach, mentioned that not only Baldwin-Woodville but all Middle Border Teams could be faced with the challenge of playing seven inning double headers multiple times a season due to the scheduling bylaws within the conference.

Altoona graduated all-conference and all-state selection Rylee Spindler. The Railroaders bring back two all-conference picks in Breely Gluch Sr SS and Katelyn Dachel So C.
Saint Croix Central graduated nine seniors in 2025. The Panthers also have a new Head Coach in 2025 with Emma Holland taking over. Lauren Lindus is the lone all-conference returnee this season.
Osceola graduated its lone all-conference pick Mazie Gillespie in 2024. The Chieftains have a large number of underclassmen on its 2025 roster.
Amery had two seniors in 2024 and welcome back Josie Maxon So 3B/OF/P, Sophie Trandum So C, Ruby Christen Jr RF, Kristy Nelson Sr 3B an Marissa Fisk Sr P/CF.
