2024 Season Recap

Mishicot (29-1 overall) claimed the North Division of the Big East a season ago. Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah (13-8), Reedsville (7-12), Saint Mary Catholic (14-10), Hilbert (8-14) and Manitowoc Lutheran (5-12) finished things out. Mishicot would advance to the Division 3 State Semi Finals falling to eventual Runner-Up Laconia. The Indians drop down to Division 4 this season.

Team Previews

Mishicot is the unanimous favorite to claim the Big East-North this season. Mishicot will rely heavily on its pitching led by Kirian Sanford (2x 1st team All Conference, 19-1 112 IP, 0.31 ERA, 8 No Hitters and 1 Perfect game, 220 Strikeouts,Committed to UW-Oshkosh). Kaelin Adair SS Sr (46 Hits, 40 Runs Scored, 34 RBI, .554 avg, 3 Year Starter, 2X 1st Team All Conference, UW Oshkosh Commit) and Kasey Brouchoud Sr C (33 Hits 31 RBI, 3 year Starter, 3X All Conference, committed to UW LaCrosse) also look to lead the Indians this season. Dawn Shimek holds a 222-50 record in 12 years along with six state appearances, Including a Division 4 Runner-Up in 2019 and Division 4 Championship in 2021, six =conference championships and eight regional titles as the Head Coach for Mishicot. Mishicot also looks to make a deep run in Division 4 this season.

Reedsville has only one senior in Kayla Bubolz P/IF on its team this year who is a a staple in the circle and at the plate. The Panthers other most notable returnees are Mercedes Grimm Jr IF (17 Hits 15 Runs scored 11 RBI, .378 avg) and Kortney Dvorachek Jr SS (19 hits, scored 10 runs, 10 RBI and had a .442 batting avg). Freshman Brookyn Taddy will also look to make an impact this season.

Saint Mary Catholic loses two starting pitchers to graduation (Neveah Saringer & Rihannon Reichenbacher) but will look to reload at that position this year with freshman Gabby Guerreo. Emily Vogel Sr SS (35 Hits .455 avg, Honorable Mention All-Conference), Sammi Weiss Jr OF (1st Team All Conference), Jaylyn Akey Sr C, Ainslie Liddy So IF/OF, and Audrey Weber Jr IF/OF highlight the returning players for the Zephyrs and Head Coach Jenny Rodman. Saint Mary Catholic will look to challenge themselves with non-conference games against Winneconne (D2), Peshtigo (D3), and Iola-Scandinavia (D4).

Hilbert returns just one all-conference pick from 2024 in Kaylie Hernke Sr OF (31 hits 28 runs scored 22 RBI 23 stolen bases .477 avg). Also returning for the Wolves is Makayla Plate Sr C, Maddie Schnurer So OF, and Alandra Grenzer Sr P/IF .

Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah also returns just one all-conference pick from 2024 in Alyssa Lukich Jr P/IF (39 ⅔ IP, 34 Hits 14 RBI .567 avg at the plate) . The Resorters also return Ava Conrad Sr OF (33 Hits 27 RBI .516 avg), Lydia Weber Jr IF, Dyani Lisowe So C, and Kaitlyn Heschel Sr IF.
