Mellen made it to the sectional final for the first time ever last season. It has been the second time ever in any sport the Granite Diggers have made it that far in the WIAA postseason. Mellen brings back most of its roster in 2025 and is led by Ellie Peters Sr P, Brenna Nortunen Jr C, and Kaylee Erickson So SS. Blair Koosman Sr 3B and Olivia Stricker Sr RF are also notable returning players. Mellen will look to potentially make another run to sectionals where it could meet up with last year's opponents Northwood/Solon Springs and Thorp.
Hurley brings back a number of players from last season including Olivia Digorgio Jr P (6-7 107 IP 3.99 ERA, 22 Hits 13 RBI .489 avg). The Northstars will look to newcomers Laney Lombardo Fr IF, Eden Amundson Fr OF, Alex Tolemy Fr OF and Bella Derosso Fr C for this year as well.
Notable Losses: Alayna King, Kamryn Swartz, Patience Sivula.
Drummond sees some stability in key infield positions but overall looks to build up for the high school level of softball. Ben Swanson has been the Head Coach for the Lumberjills for 19 years and holds a 167-137 record and has three Conference Championships and three Sectional Runner-Up’s.
Returnees: Ella Wald Sr P, Kyla Hanson Sr SS, Autumn Rikkola Sr 3B
Notable Losses: Lilly Arvidson (catcher and last year's conference-player-of-the-year)
Newcomers: Sawyer Ledding Fr C
Butternut/Mercer returns just five players from last season and will be joined by five others. The Pioneers also have a new head coach this season with Elizabeth Nelson taking over the co-op program.
South Shore has new coaches this season, as the Cardinals are now led by Allison Hipsher and Mackenzie Correll. They have five returning players and seven newcomers.
