2024 Season Recap

Pacelli (28-2 overall) won the CWC-South followed by Almond-Bancroft (20-5) in second. Pittsville (7-11), Wild Rose (10-13), Rosholt (9-10), Port Edwards (9-10), and Tri County (3-15) finished out the Standings. Pacelli would go on to win its second consecutive Division 5 Championship in the postseason.

Team Previews

Pacelli Is not only the defending conference champion but also the two-time defending Division 5 state champion. The Cardinals have good depth with Peyton Mancl Sr P/1B (10-1 67 ⅓ IP, 143 Strikeouts, 0.62 ERA, committed to Rock Valley), Kaylin Yenter Sr C/IF (43 Hits, 34 RBI, .473 avg, committed to UM Duluth), Ava Tess Sr P/2nd, Katy Ilkka Sr CF, Amelia Martini Jr P/IF (Team Leading 8 Home Runs), Kelsea Giese Jr SS and Maddy Pionek So 3b/C. Ann Molski, a 2025 WFSCA Hall of Fame Inductee who has been the Head Coach for 21 Seasons with a record of 384-90, says the group is ready to get on the field this season. Pacelli will move up to Division 4 this season and have a lot of familiar competition not just in its Regional/Sectional grouping but at the state level as well. Pacelli also has a loaded non-conference schedule with Mosinee, Medford, Merrill, Laconia, Poynette and Wausau West.

Newcomers: Kaydyn Nelson Jr Jaedyn Zdroik So

Almond-Bancroft brings back the bulk of its roster for 2025 and will look to chase Pacelli for the conference crown. Notably returning are Mya Dernbach Jr CF, Aaliyah Newby Jr SS, Riya Ceballos Jr P, Lacie Bradley So and Oakley Omernik Jr 1B. With Pacelli’s move to Division 4 the Eagles will look to make a deep playoff run and look to make its first state tournament appearance since 1984.

Newcomers: Tia Dernbach Fr, Sophia Chapa Fr

Wild Rose welcomes back five all-conference selections in 2025. Leading the way for the Wildcats are Cali Havlovitz Sr C/UT, Aly Henschel So SS/P, Lilly Luchini So Ellie Butzin Sr OF and Katie Harley-Little Sr 3B.

Notable Losses: Abbie Mccardell

Pittsville returns most of their team from 2024. The Panthers are led by Lana Vollert Jr P/3B, Keyrra Knutson Sr OF, Trinity Fox So 1B, and Gwyn Kumm Sr C all who were all-conference selections. Other players to watch include Brooke Grossman Sr P, Halle Friday So, and Ashley Fox Fr.

Tri-County has just one all-conference selection returning this year in Paitton Rothermel Sr P. The Penguins have numerous returning players and some freshmen on its roster to look out for this season.

Rosholt returns three all-conference selections notably being Kaylee Filtz Sr 2B and Gracie Flees Sr OF. The Hornets will be without Addi Gagas Jr who is out for the season with a torn ACL.

Port Edwards has a new head coach this season with Justin Green taking over. Port Edwards will look to replace the production of Annie Friday and Mia Rogers from last season. Green noted Evie Fletcher Jr C, Breanna Igram Jr P/SS, Taylin McDonald Jr P/1B as players to watch for the Blackhawks this season.

Notable Losses: Annie Friday, Mia Rogers, Alliyah Ruiz, Aubree Shroda.

Newcomers: Lily Fletcher Jr 2B. Valedia Hernandez So 3B.
