Sussex Hamilton senior Brady Westfahl has been selected as the Box Out Sports Athlete of the Week for the week of April 21-27 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net.
There were 3,602 total votes this week. Westfahl topped all vote getters with 1,503 votes. River Valley's Karina Osborn finished in second with 1,348 votes.
Westfahl continued his torrid scoring streak on the lacrosse field last week in two Chargers' wins. The senior midfielder netted four goals and assisted on another as Hamilton knocked off the Brookfield co-op 16-2 on Wednesday. Westfahl followed that up with three goals and three assists in a 9-8 win over Thursday. For the season, Westfahl has 14 goals and 7 assists in just four games played.
This week, despite a 10-5 loss to Janesville, Westfahl had two goals and an assist to add to his season total.
The Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Box Out Sports. It highlights the players who have "made a splash" in the world of high school sports each week. If you have a nominee for Athlete of the Week please send it to Colton Wilson.
