2024 Season Recap

Martin Luther (12-10 Overall) and Racine Lutheran (14-7) shared the Metro Classic title in 2024. Shoreland Lutheran (13-6), Racine St. Catherines (15-7), Dominican (11-13), Kenosha St Joseph/Christian Life (4-13-1), and Saint Thomas More (1-17) finished out the Metro Classic. Shoreland Lutheran advanced the furthest in WIAA postseason play, falling to eventual Division 3 state runner-up Laconia in the Sectional Final.

Team Previews

Racine Lutheran returns a handful of all-conference selections led by Iyana Garza Jr P/IF/OF (12-6 104 ⅔ IP 147 Strikeouts 3.41 ERA), Alexis Kiedrowski Sr OF (13 Hits 22 RBI), Sammi Agerhold Jr C/IF and Emilie Lozano Sr IF. The Crusaders will look to be a favorite in its half sectional along with conference foe Shoreland Lutheran.

Shoreland Lutheran will look to challenge for the top spot in the Metro Classic this season. The Pacers return conference player of the year Grace Olson Sr SS (41 hits 27 RBI .631 avg) along with Alyssa Pavlolich Sr C. The Pacers will have a new look in the circle though with the graduation of Erin Boarchardt. Several younger players will look to make an impact this season in many areas.

Racine St.Catherine's has to replace five starters from 2024 and will look to fill some key positions defensively. Sixth year Head Coach Zach Prideaux says that, “Replacing five starters is a lot. We feel really good about our hitting, but have some open questions defensively. Underclassmen will have to step up and fill the spots.” Londyn Pardo Jr 3B (33 Hits, 22 RBI, 40 Runs Scored, .524 avg, 18 Stolen Bases, All County/All Conference Selection), Mandy Deschler So C (All Conference Pick), and Annika Munoz So P (14-7, 119 ⅔ IP, 3/33 ERA, 118 Strikeouts, 25 RBI .356 avg as a hitter, All Conference Pick), are some of the Angels players to watch this season. Racine St.Catherine’s will participate in the Racine City Quad facing Racine Case and Racine Horlick/Park this season.

Notable Losses: Aniesa Neave SS (MATC), Loretta Ochoa C, Emmerson Davidovic LF, Isa Sanchez 2B, Cristina Murguia 1B.

Newcomers: Sici Lopez Jr 1B

Martin Luther returns a number of younger players that made an impact last season but also graduated some top performers from last year. Gabby Salzer So P/SS and Danni Wise So P/1B highlight the returning group for the Spartans.

Dominican/Eastbrook Academy was a sectional qualifier a season ago, falling to conference foe Shoreland Lutheran. The Knights most notable returnees are Lily Weiler Jr P and Maddie Pickart Jr C. Other all-conference returnees include Ceci Parlier Sr C, Cate Wahlen Jr 2B and Vivian Snyder Sr OF.

Kenosha St. Joseph/Christian Life has two all-conference returnees in Annabelle Cerny Jr P/OF and Payton Hasselbrink Sr P/IF. The Lancers will have some new players to look to this season.

St.Thomas More returns its lone two all-conference selections this season in Kennedy Schultz Sr SS and Kayla Kurtz Sr C. The Cavaliers have a freshman Madelyn Breen that is looking to make an impact this season.
