Jacobs had a great week as he helped the De Pere Central boys lacrosse team to a pair of victories. The junior attacker started his week with three goals and an assist on six shots on goal as the Ghostbirds beat Notre Dame 12-9. Jacobs followed that up with four goals and three assists on seven shots on goal in a 14-1 win over Pulaski. On the season, Jacobs ranks sixth in the state in total scoring with 54 points as he's tallied 28 goals and 26 assists in ten games.
Mautz is a senior midfielder for the Kettle Moraine girls lacrosse team that is currently 11-1 and riding a nine-match win streak. Last week she was instrumental in the Lasers going 2-0. In an 11-9 victory over Arrowhead, Mautz netted four goals herself and assisted on two others. She followed that up with four goals and three assists in the Lasers' 18-3 victory over Waukesha. Mautz is second in the state in points scored with 81. She has 51 goals on the year, which ranks fourth, and 30 assists, second-most.
Peterson was incredible on the mound this past week, getting five wins in five games for the Tigers and absolutely dominating the competition. The first game of the week is the only one in which Peterson allowed a run, striking out 12 and giving up three unearned runs in a 5-3 win over Spooner. The senior pitcher then struck out 16 batters and allowed 4 hits in a complete game 5-0 shutout of Cameron in game one of a double header. She pitched four innings and struck out nine in game 2 of the double header, a 2-0 victory. Peterson then pitched a perfect game in the 2-0 win over Barron, striking out 18 of the 21 batters she faced over 7 innings. She finished her week with 12 strikeouts in a 10-0, five-inning win over Barron. On top of that, Peterson was 7 for 15 with 4 RBIs from the plate.
Sigl took home top honors in two events for the Seymour boys golf team this past week. Competing in the fifth stop in the Bay Conference, Sigl won by one stroke over his younger brother Owen. Vince shot a 36 at the Mid-Vallee Golf Course in De Pere. Sigl and his team then competed in the Jay Hill Memorial Best-Ball Tournament at the Royal Scott Golf Course in New Franken over the weekend. Sigl, ranked as the top junior golfer in the state, shot a 68, which was eight strokes better than the second place finisher.
Wagner was stout from both the plate and on the mound as the Resorter baseball team went 3-1 this past week. The lone game Wagner pitched this week he came one batter shy of a perfect game. The sophomore struck out 18 batters in a complete game no-hitter. Wagner also was four for four from the plate with two runs scored and an RBI in the 7-0 win over Saint Lawrence Seminary. Over the course of the four games played, Wagner was 10 for 16 with 6 runs scored, 3 RBIs, two triples, two doubles, and two stolen bases.
