Week 8 Additions

The weather is improving and times are heating up, with conference meets just around the corner.

Below are the additions to the top overall performances list from the past week.

BOYS ADDITIONS

The Myrhum Invite at Arrowhead High School is one of the biggest and best in-season track and field events, always producing some outstanding performances. The 200-meter dash was blazing, with five of the top ten times this season run at the event, including a new state-best by Arrowhead junior Ryan Heiman in 21.80 seconds. The 4x100-meter race was electric, with the top three results of the season posted at the event. West De Pere won the race and now has the best time in the state at 41.68 seconds. Similarly, the 4x200-meter race resulted in a new season-best mark from the Arrowhead team in 1:27.25. Homestead's 4x800-meter time of 7:53.21 from the Myrhum is also tops this year. Germantown's Josh Brunner cleared 16'6" in the pole vault, pushing his season-best in the event.

Chippewa Falls senior Samuel Hebert made a big jump in the 400-meters at the Willard Hanson Invitational at La Crosse Central on Saturday, running 48.00 seconds for a new state best.

Chris Marcell of Marathon pushed the top mark in the discus to 208'11" at the Pittsville Invitational last Monday.

At the Woodland-West Conference meet last Tuesday, Wisconsin Lutheran senior Josiah Rice soared 47'7" in the triple jump, narrowly edging teammate Mikiah Hopf and claiming the top result in the state this season.

Two athletes cleared 6'9" in the high jump last week: River Falls senior Ty Bauschelt on Tuesday at the Mustang Open and Germantown junior Aiden Dykstra at Saturday's Myrhum Invite.

GIRLS ADDITIONS

Just like the boys side, the Myrhum Invite at Arrowhead on Saturday featured incredible competition on the girls side as well. A new season-best in the 100-meters was set by Holmen junoir Lydia Lazarescu, who ran 11.88 seconds. Avery Bott of Arrowhead lowered her season-best 200-meter time to 23.94 seconds at the meet. The Mukwonago 4x100-meter relay ran 47.66 seconds, while Arrowhead junior Elise Schroeder cleared 13'8" in the pole vault to extend her lead this year.

Verona's Nicole Repka lowered her time in the 400-meter dash to 55.66 seconds to stay ahead of the rest of the field.

At the Glenn D. Loucks Games in New York over the weekend, Cedarburg junior Charlize-Trinity McKenzie ran 2:06.63, lowering her time by nearly two seconds.

Menomonie junior Lauren McCalla managed to lower her 1600-meter time to 4:54.02 at last Friday's Stan Barr Relays in New Richmond. Also at the event, Cameron's 4x400-meter relay ran a season-best 3:59.65.

The DeMerit Invite in Bay Port was the setting for a blazing 44.17 second time in the 300-meter hurdles by Wausau West junior Maci Heise.

Piper Eby of Germantown extended her lead in the discus with a throw of 149'2" at the Greater Metro Conference Relays last Thursday.
