Kimberly sophomore Tyler Steeno has been selected as the Box Out Sports Athlete of the Week for the week of May 12-18 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net.
There were 2,417 total votes this week. Steeno topped all vote getters with 715 votes. Oregon's Hazel Rothering finished in second with 570 votes.
Steeno competed in three events this week and shot the lowest score in all three for Kimberly. Golfing in the Heart of the Valley Tournament at the Whispering Springs Golf Course in Fond Du Lac, the sophomore golfer shot a 76 and tied for the lowest round with Jonah Roehig of Kaukauna. Steeno then shot a 67 in the Sevastopol Pioneer Invitational at Horseshoe Bay Golf Course in Egg Harbor the very next day, taking home a first place finish by one stroke. In a dual with Oshkosh North at High Cliff Golf Course in Sherwood for a third straight day on the links, Steeno shot a 38, tied for the lowest round with two of his teammates.
