Athlete of the Week Nominees: May 19-25

Kamron Diermeier, Elk Mound

Diermeier was excellent at the plate and on the mound as he helped the Elk Mound baseball team to a pair of wins to improve to 18-1 on the year. The senior pitched four and a third innings of relief in the Mounders' 7-4 win over Durand-Arkansaw. He got the win in relief, pitching four hitless innings with ten strikeouts. From the plate he was two of two with three walks, two runs scored, an RBI, and a stolen base. In a 19-2 win over Plum City/Elmwood, Diermeier went two for three with two RBIs, two runs scored, a walk, and a stolen base.

Kylee Molitor, Reedsburg

Molitor made history in her final regular season game for the Reedsburg softball team last week. The Wisconsin commit went four for five with two runs scored and a stolen base in the Beavers' 8-2 season finale win over Cambria-Friesland. In doing so, Molitor became the career hits leader in Wisconsin state history, surpassing the old record of 204.

Caroline Olson, Whitefish Bay

Olson had a big week, propelling the Whitefish Bay girls lacrosse team to a trio of wins and a North Shore conference title in 2025. She began her week with a goal and an assist in a 12-6 victory over Cedarburg, putting two games between the Wolfpack and the Bulldogs in the standings and clinching the conference crown. Olson then went nuclear in a 15-7 win over Waukesha, netting eight goals and assisting on one more. Finally she helped lead the Wolfpack to an 8-6 win over Mukwonago to close out the 2025 regular season.

Brendan Scheel, Martin Luther

Scheel had a week to remember as the Martin Luther baseball team went 2-1 in its three games. The senior infielder/pitcher began his week by going two for four with two runs scored and an RBI in the 11-8 loss to Saint Thomas More. He pitched two innings, gave up four runs (three unearned), and struck out two. The Winona State commit then went three for five with three RBIs and two runs scored in a 10-7 victory over Racine St. Cats. He pitched three innings, struck out four, and allowed one run to get the win. On the second game of Saturday, the Spartans beat Saint Thomas More for the first time in nine games, 8-2 behind Scheel. He went two for three with a three-run home run, six RBIs, and a run scored while pitched four innings of two hit ball on the mound. During the week he broke the school record for hits in in a season (40), RBIs in a season (42), wins in a season (9), and batting average (.580), while also reaching the 100 career hit milestone.

Anna Willis, Saint Mary's Springs

Willis and the Saint Mary's Springs girls soccer team got two wins this past week to improve to 11-5 on the season. The senior forward netted a lone goal but assisted on three more as Springs knocked off Mayville 5-0 on Monday. She then tallied four goals in an 8-0 win over Wayland Academy on Thursday. On the WisSports.net statistical leaderboards for girls soccer, Willis is fourth in the state in scoring, having netted 40 goals and assisted on 10 more.
