Feldmann had a weekend to remember competing at the WIAA Track and Field State Championships in La Crosse. The senior standout three-sport athlete competed in three events, won all three, and set the state record for all three in Division 3. Feldmann took home a first place finish in the 200 meter dash, winning the race in 21.69 seconds, breaking the eight-year old previous record by .04 seconds. He then took home gold in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.82 seconds, breaking a two-year old record by .44 seconds. Feldmann finished his week winning the 300-meter hurdles in another record time of 37.83, breaking the 25-year old record by .27 seconds. Feldmann's 30 points alone got Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah a fourth place finish as a team in Division 4.
Marcell came into the state tournament and completely dominated the throwing competitions in Division 3, breaking both records for that Division and completely shattering the state record in discuss throw. The junior won the shot put with a throw of 61-00.00, winning by nearly three feet. He broke the previous record from 1997 that sat at 59.09.25. Marcell then destroyed the discuss throw record and it wasn't even close. His throw of 211-04 won the state title by an eye-popping 45 feet. That throw broke the Division 3 state record by over 30 feet, and came one foot shy of breaking the state record regardless of division, set last year. Marcell's 20 points helped lead Marathon to winning the Division 3 State Team Championship, with a total of 48.5 points.
Sonnentag advanced to the state championships in four events, in which she won three, and set two state records in the process. The lone event the junior did not win that she competed in was the 800-meter run, in which she finished in ninth place. The junior runner took home gold in the 400-meter dash however, winning with a new Division 3 state record time of 55.53 seconds. She then set the Division 3 state record in the 100-meter hurdles, winning the race with a time of 14.48 seconds. Sonnentag finished her weekend off with a gold medal in the long jump with a distance of 18-04.00. Sonnetag scored 30 points for the Cadott girls team, which finished tied for fourth in the Division 3 team standings.
Thiry won three state titles, finished runner-up in another, and singlehandedly won Prairie du Chien a bronze trophy in Division 2 at the WIAA Track and Field State Championships. In the 110-meter hurdles, Thiry came .04 seconds from breaking the state record en route to a gold medal finish of 14.16 seconds. The lone silver medal he won came in the 300-meter hurdles where he finished in 38.00 second, losing to the new state record holder in that event by .21 seconds. Thiry then won two jumping competitions, first capturing gold in the long jump with a distance of 23-06.75, winning by nearly a foot and a half. He then won the triple jump in Division 2 with a distance of 47-00.00, nearly three feet better than the next best jumper. Thiry was the lone Blackhawk competing at state and compiled 38 points, which won Prairie du Chien a third-place finish in Division 2 as a team.
Uddin won three events this past weekend at La Crosse, breaking two of her own records in the process, and helping Osceola finish fifth as a team in Division 2. The junior swept both hurdle events for the third straight year. In the 100-meter hurdles, she broke her own record set last season, winning the event in a time of 13.98 seconds, over half a second faster than the second place finisher. She then broke the 300-meter record for the third straight season, winning by nearly two full seconds with a time of 42.56 seconds. Uddin also competed in the long jump winning with a distance of 18-05.75 though as a freshman and sophomore she podiumed in the high jump event.
